Absolutely. I disagree with Doc Lane a little, it's no a matter of Americans having no stomach for war, it's the 20 year indecisive war we loose interest in. Give credit where it's due, Israel wins. They get invaded, repulse the invaders and seize territory from the invaders. Israels enemies use civilian infrastructure and the civilians themselves as a shield for their terrorism and it's no use, Israel hardens the attack. Israel fights to win, fights to the finish, fights to the bitter end. We should to. We could have destroyed the Taliban and handed the dirt off to Iran and Pakistan decades ago. Bush II and his Grand Vizier Cheney deserve most of the blame for our failed policy and losses in Afghanistan. Then came Obama's eight years of political cowardice in failing to pull the plug. Eight more years of allowing US troops to die and be maimed. And Trump too was afraid of the political fallout from a withdrawal, yet managed to saddle his successor with a really bad agreement to do so. Biden deserves some credit for putting an end to the killing and dying for failed dreams of an Afghani democracy. Incompetently managed, yes! But at least he put an end to it. | |||

Haiti only, very only because they are in our hemisphere and 700 miles from our coast. As a man, as a father, as a Christian I mourn my fellow human beings suffering. I honestly don't wish the Taliban any evil, I'd love to read about them rebuilding their cedar forests, championing healthy agriculture, educating all in reading and writing. That all being true, I don't believe my vote, opinion or advocacy gives me the liberty to commit Rolands children or yours to being mutilated on a foreign shore for a society that doesn't value the above. I think we can ensure peace and prosperity on our shores and in our society and in the case of Haiti obviously the only realistic approach is brute force. | |||
