Some politicians say it doesn't make any difference we left billions of dollars' worth of military equipment in Afghanistan, they don't have spare parts to repair them. If these cats can do this, they can keep our stuff running perpetually.

Regardless their ability to keep any of it running, the point is that we made the mistake in leaving any of it.

"inside every Gook is an American trying to get out.". My favorite line from that Vietnam war movie I can't think of the title off hand.
Not true, one thousand times not true. The Gooks, the Taliban, the Africans and the South Americans as well as most of the Europeans have no interest in being us. The United States has no business telling Saeeds kin how to live like us anymore than the Somalis or Peruvians. All the effort and all the material, not to mention all the blood we spilled and spent trying to make Afghans into Americans was a waste.
