The news is abuzz.

I'll give some samples.

First, I listened to some reports from Fox but noted they don't focus on the evidence.

That's the first thing the others talk about.

The evidence shows, in great detail, what we've said all along; this was an attempt to overturn a free and fair election, a literal coup d'état, with violence an acceptable component, planned in advance and involving not only Trump and his campaign/ White House staffers but Republicans in public office across the Country and in Congress.

In most other Countries there'd be a wall for the guilty to stand in front of.

I guess this could be called an October Surprise since it's October.

But this isn't a surprise. We already knew.

It was known before Trump got the GOPer nomination, yet he got it anyway. Despite or because?

The fact that Trump is the GOPer nominee says everything we need to know about the republican party.

It came out now as a direct result of Republicans on the Roberts Court trying to run interference for Trump with their assinine "immunity" ruling, for which there is absolutly no basis anywhere in the Constitution or the debates that defined it.

The extremists on the Court like to harken back to "historical norms" except on the most basic founding principle of the Country, that "No man is above the Law."

Good points. The immunity decision puts an end to the charade that the Roberts's court consists of judicial conservatives as opposed to activists.

Making up Constitutional law that has no actual basis in the Constitution is the definition of judicial activism and exactly what they condemned about Roe v Wade.

I can understand why this report was important to reveal the depth and scope of the evidence and to use that in a narrative arc. There has been much effort to spin, diminish, misinform and obscure the significance and the scope of other participants, many still in office.

Get it - there are members in congress right now who willingly and actively participated in a seditious conspiracy to keep Trump in power.

Now that leads us to something I have been talking about and worrying about for a long time.

I've said it before - the insurrection isn't over - it's ongoing.

I see a lot of harping in the news about what happened, but I don't see much on what's about to happen.

I actually think Trump has no chance to win in a fair and accurate election.

I think he knows that.

Mostly under the radar GOPers have been preparing for taking it to the max this coming November, making the first attempt look amateurish.

My worry is that I haven't seen any evidence of counter-measures.

We know what's coming. It's like a Cat 5 hurricane. Why aren't we warned?

Is the "System" actually prepared and we just don't know it?

I'm not talking about the protests or violence, which may be part of it, but I'm talking about the rest of the conspiracy, the court challenges, etc. I think quelling the violence is the easy part.

Here's something:

Just past the intro at about 0:35 is the "Buckle Up" part.

OK, I did a little research.

The initial results of my search question yielded good, recent and reassuring articles.

The first one focused on what the republican game is and how it differs from past. The last four short paragraphs told what the democrats are doing.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/04...campaign-ground-game

Trump’s ground game relies on untraditional strategies to draw out battleground voters

Excerpt:

Democrats view these efforts – coupled with Trump’s unusual approach to deploying a ground game – as evidence that he isn’t campaigning as hard to win as he is to challenge the outcome if he loses.

“Republicans are saying, ‘If we can’t get above 50% of the vote, let’s figure out how to disrupt the system,’”

Danielle Butterfield, the executive director of Democratic-aligned Priorities USA, said of the Republicans’ focus on litigation that challenges election procedures. “Democrats are saying, ‘If it looks like we aren’t getting above 50%, let’s convince more voters to be part of our team.’”

Priorities USA operates both a super PAC that is spending heavily on digital advertising to drive turnout for Harris and other Democrats and a nonprofit arm that has a $20 million budget in this election cycle for litigation and voter-protection work.

The following article explains better, IMO:

Many of the tactics Jack Smith accused Trump of using to overturn the 2020 election are still in play for 2024

(interesting excerpt)
Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, a Democrat, told reporters on Thursday that the state is still exploring strategies for overcoming local certification shenanigans, while noting the two local officials who held up the certification in Cochise County in 2022 now face criminal charges.
