Of course! Like every stupid America adventure in Africa in the past! Going as far as using UN marked planes to deliver arms to their puppets! | |||

One of my uncles probably participated in some of those African adventures because he was a CIA agent and stationed in Africa (Zambia, I think) during the 1960s. After he retired, he told me that once he was caught by Communist rebels and thrown in a cell, to be shot at dawn. Fortunately, government forces retook the town in the early morning hours and he was saved. He couldn't tell me exactly what he did because of a secrecy agreement he signed with the agency. Part of his job was to run a line of stringers--local sources of information. He was a really nice guy, very friendly and outgoing to everyone he met. I imagine he was very good at recruiting local intelligence sources. | |||
