Great!

Let's drive down some prices? Apparently oil is selling for more than $70 per barrel. At that price the Houthis are flying drones and rockets, Hamas is paragliding and I guess the West Bank is frisky.

Some$30 per barrel would help me out as an individual to no end, maybe quiet the Camel Jockeys and Soviet's a little?

Oh, I didn't know the roughnecks were the ones who should get credit?

They're just working extra hard?

You should know better than to make such an idiot comment.

Morons. Oil prices higher? Biden's fault.

Oil prices lower because of increased US oil production?

Joe had nothing to do with it.

Stupid.

Somebody on our side really needs to think of a way to take some of that authority away from OPEC.

If it's, "for a change," I gather we can.

I apologize to my friend Steve Ahrenberg who hates the word "retarded", but it is beyond retarded to allow the M.E. who The West created with oil wealth to dictate to The West what we should pay for energy. How stupid can The West be? We Infidels can shut The Califate down. We Infidels can shut off the Houthis rocket budget.

Damn it.

So how come conservatives were blaming Joe when prices were up? As Wymple said, you can't have it both ways.

The fallacy above is that there is NO connection between the actions of OPEC and the executive branch of the USA…there is.

Current OPEC members are Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, the Republic of the Congo, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

All of those countries are dictatorships that respect NOTHING but strength and the ability and WILLINGNESS to wield it.

American oil companies have been made pariahs by the progressive left…including biden. Thus, they ars now just along for the ride…making hay while the sun shines…can’t blame them.

Go back to incentivizing American oil to take care of Americans and put strong leadership in place that will put meaningful pressure on OPEC when needed and see where American’s energy prices go.

The progressive left (aka biden) WANTS high gasoline/diesel to help drive the green agenda. It is a tool for them. They like people to believe the Great and Powerful OPEC sets the price and they are powerless. It helps take the heat off of them in election years.

As Rick Perry said when he was Sec of Energy: “you get what you incentivize for.”

I likewise think Trump had fuckall to do with gas prices. Oil companies having been making record breaking profits for years and OPEC members in the ME aren’t suffering either.

Good for you. Doesn't change the truth of Wymple's statement. You assholes have been blaming Biden for years for gas prices. And, now that the US is the number one oil producer per week...ever....he still gets no credit.

As noted....you can't have it both ways.

Yes, he gets credit…credit for allowing OPEC to run roughshod over the rest of the world. Yes, allowing OPEC to have its way causes increased oil prices. And yes, high oil leads to increased exploration.

So yes…Biden did have a direct effect on oil exploration in the USA.

If you are dumb enough to think he must invade their country to wield influence strong enough to get them to help keep the supply of oil in steady flow and ample enough to moderate consumer prices…you are too dumb to debate with.

Has Biden EVER insisted Saudi Arabia cut production to raise oil prices?

Trump Did

Yes he did and for good reason. At the time…OPEC’s strategy was to wreck the USA exploration and production companies by flooding the market with oil to drive prices below production price for domestic USA companies. They actually did break many US producers. He rightfully stepped in to help oil prices reach a happy medium.

So when an industry runs into tough times, the government should intervene to help them out?

Did you support it when Obama helped the auto industry?

I can see why you don't vote Libertarian anymore.

Roland,
There is a lot of differences in the 2 scenarios you throw out to compare here.

First, 100% hell no…I did not support the government bailout of the auto industry. Let them live or die by their business tact.

In regards to Trump and THIS oil situation…that is a slightly different story.

This was a known plot of a foreign cartel (OPEC) to harm American businesses. Furthermore, that harm would have eventually come to the consumer dramatically increased energy prices that would surpass the small hike he was looking for.

Even further…strong domestic energy production is vital to our national defense.

Not convinced. Oil production and cost is global. It is never going to be not global. Cut production hurt the U.S. consumer.
