Yesterdays elections were yet another wake up call for the GOP. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Biden the policy positions of the party and the effort to pander to the fringe of the party is not in step with the views of most voters. Other than in Mississippi, the GOP was spanked everywhere else. Particularly in Ohio, a state Trump carried, where the voters have said clearly that reproductive rights are matter between a woman and her God, not a bunch of busy body evangelical nut jobs.

I am sure the GOP will just roll over and hit the snooze button.

Every Wednesday night I have dinner at a local restaurant that has open mic night music, with a couple that are right wing, and they like the banter we go thru. I fully expect a text today that says they can't make it this week.

That's a recipe for indigestion. Wink

I wouldn't order spicy food there.

Cost the Rs the Gov’s mansion in KY.

Spot on analysis.

Of course, they do not want the State to decide this issue. They want a Fed, Right to Unborn Life Law.

They already had abortions severely limited in states that the majority wanted those restrictions. Dobb’s does not stop any early, for contraception abortion in California. The result had been the harm of a lot of women and girls in the Red States.

Make no mistake, they are targeting contraception access next and now. Justice Thomas had done said, they have his vote.

For that, they have put every Federally protected right in danger of being returned to the states as the Founders intended; especially, the 2nd Amendment.

Every single time voters are asked who should make reproductive decisions for women the voters say "the women".

So Republicans want to quit asking and dictate.

Because this far right guy says shush! Stop saying anything shush! Shhhhhh!

Shhhh, shhhh, shhhh, shhhh! Stop talking about it!

The more you guys talk about it the more you illuminate the problem the more the possibility of the GOP correcting course enough to stop the run over the cliff.

Shush!!!! We need to let Trump run the GOP right to death, right over the cliff, right into the eye of the hurricane. The GOP needs the roofs blown off, it's residence flooded by a storm surge, the rats and snakes climbing trees to avoid drowning.

Here's you guys saying, "Hang on Baby Jesus, it's about to get bumpy!".

As if anyone needed more evidence that the GOP has been completely cooped by the kooks in the Party, you need look no further than tonight’s debate. While Trump leads in all the polls for the Republican primary, based on tonight’s debate any of the five people on that stage (sans possibly Vivek) would be a far better President than Trump (or Biden).

. . . what a bullshit answer. You have three governors or former governors, a former US Attorney and Ambassador to the UN, a US Senator. It makes it much easier to dismiss you as a shill when you make nonsensical statements that are divorced from reality. Knee jerk responses . . . right and left . . . serve no legitimate purpose and largely account for the malaise we currently find ourselves in.

Christie was a big Trumper to the end, only bailing after Jan 6, Haley's tenure at the U.N. under Trump was a disgrace, Scott only ever made it above the House because Nimrata appointed him to that Senate seat, DeSantis is, well, DeSantis and I don't know what the hell a Vivek is but Pittsburg deserves better.

A perfect example that so called "democracy" never existed in America!

An old lady on our radio station said America politics is run by CUSTOM democracy!

She was right!

Bloody hell, a country with 350 million people, and every single one I personally know would do a better job running the country.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has it all figured out, "Republicans are losing Republican voters because the base is fed up with weak Republicans who never do anything to actually stop the communist democrats . . ." In other words, let's just double down on stupid . . . the reason we are losing is that we are just not kooky enough. Brilliant. Another commentator said the GOP has lost its identity as a coherent national party and is now just comprised of regional tribes. Pretty accurate.

It is ironic that the conservative whackos pet project of restricting the right of women to choose appears to be the issue that voters have latched onto in rejecting GOP candidates ......if Tuesday's results are any indication.

I don't know what the demographics are on any of it but I bet the female of the species decided the issues.

The Republicans want "States Rights" and destroy Federal institutions, right up until the States say they want something the far-Right doesn't want.

The MAGA Republican Party is so out of step with what Americans want that they can't win elections without suppressing voter rights or outright stealing elections. Our ARPF MAGgots are shining examples of what is wrong with America.

If the Supreme Court allows it, KY probably would. Personally, yes if caught in the act under justified use of deadly force principles. No, after the fact as the state is not permitted to do prescribe by S. Ct precedent. If I could wave a magic wand; probably not.

Of course, I do not prescribe to the Alt Right Lie that an early developing fetus or zygote is a human. I certainly do not prescribe to this non-belief control major disguised as piety when balanced against the agency of the women.

I certainly do not call myself a Libertarian.

Unlike you nuts, I realize the complicated beds of the issue.

In KY under Plan Parenthood v Casey we banned abortion except medical emergency at 21 weeks, and only had one clinic to serve the entire state. Much of the state was not going to get service. At least, not at the legally permissible clinic.

You obviously have not been following along. Therefore, I will ask you:

How would we legislatively provide service on all parties, and provide appellate procedure to give legislative effect to the Big 3 commonly supported exceptions?

Let us take health of mother;
Are we going to allow a R Gov to appoint a medical team of 3 doctors to review All medical applications for abortion, and on a 2 to 1 vote deny the abortion? Meanwhile, the lady is bleeding and becomes sterile such as what happened in Texas (factually not disputable regardless of legal jeopardy). How are we going to provide all those women appeals through the courts in a 6 week state?

The answer is it is not possible. Hence, legislatures should have been satisfied by the restrictive upon women ruling in Plan Parenthood v Casey (assuming the state wanted to be restrictive).

Of course, despite us talking about it for 2 years, you do not know what Plan Parenthood v Casey did and the legal framework it gave to the states and courts to allow or restrict abortion.

You also do not know or care that Justice Alito in confirmation mislead the Senate Judiciary Committee on stare decisis applying to Plan Parenthood v Casey. Confirmation by the Senate is the only voice we have in the selection of an individual, specific justice. If Justice Alito had answered of Plan Parenthood v Casey as he wrote in Dobbs, he never would have been confirmed, or confirming him would have singularly flipped the Senate.

The language of Dobbs, the “unintended consequences” language is ripe for another majority to un-incorporate the 2nd Amendment or any incorporated right against the states.

Now, those unintended consequences they Justice Alito is so concerned about are still happening in states like California.

I read the material, policy of those I disagree with, I know the end hope for result was not to return abortion to the states as a majority of states would reject this policy. The goal is to un-incorporate the right to contraception access. Cases are working their way through Texas Courts (previously provided), and pass a national right of unborn life.

The self-proclaimed oldest, organized antiabortion advocacy group calls itself National Right to Life Committee who have created a Model Statute to be adopted.

For the reasons outline and semi-detailed above, I oppose it.

I know it makes folks here mad, but I told you KY would keep a DEM Gov over this issue. A state with every state wide elected office controlled the GOP/Right. Our Supreme Court is not. See Wisconsin.

I also told you 2022 mid term election was not going to go well for the GOP.

I do not see a 5 seat majority against an unpopular Dem Presidential Incumbent, losing Gov races, and not taking the Senate with Trumpism candidates as doing well. You know, the kind candidates Dr. Easter likes “policy wise.”

Therefore, keep trying to, at best, legislate a narrow religious viewpoints through elections. You will lose more than you win.

Funny how the Bible nerves mentions abortion. Orthodox Jews interpret what we call an Old Testament chapter not to be the son of murder when impregnated through rape.

When I first posted that observation, Dr. Easter’s reply was he knew better what the Old Testament meant than Orthodox Jews. Of course, practitioners of Judaism would not refer to their Holly book as the Old Testament, like my backwoods Baptist self has.

I’ll ask you a question that Dr. Easter never answered.

Should a religious belief of a few that is not even expressly stated in the Bible set national policy?

Notwithstanding, the caselaw against a state endorsing a religious tenant or religious teaching.

You're such a fantastic cheerleader for the guy you voted for. So enthralled that you ignore the obvious issues he's not only had his entire career but also his nefarious dealings with children. He's a pedo through and through.

This information can be found on multiple sites on the internet. I know you know about it. I'll say here, any man who looks at a child like that, a child posing and pulling her clothing up, a groomed child... is sick.

"In a January 2019 entry, Ashley Biden recalled how she used to shower with her father, Joe Biden, and suggested it may have contributed to a sex addiction.

The diary describes Ashley and her father Joe Biden taking showers together at an inappropriate age.

“I have always been boy crazy,’ Ashley wrote. ‘Hyper-sexualized @ a young age … I remember somewhat being sexualized with [a family member]; I remember having sex with friends @ a young age; showers w/ my dad (probably not appropriate).’ she wrote in a January 2019 entry, according to the Daily Mail."
