I admit that Trump seems to have a pathological need to be flattered by people. Most presidents want someone to tell them what the pitfalls are. Maybe Trump does as well as long as it’s in private, but the fawning sycophants show is useless to me.

From his willingness to sack any public official who brings anything other than good news I'd image they are all worried they may be next to get the boot unless they fawn over the great dear leader.

He has certainly learnt from his first term not to appoint anyone with a backbone who might contradict him, rather than call him a fucking moron after working with him for a short while.
