SaeedReminds me of all the hoopla created in Australia a few years ago.
When two Aussis were caught smuggling drugs into Indonesia I think.
The Indonesian have the death penalty, and the Aussies went berserk.
Indonesia told them to FO!
And shot the criminals!

Face it, if we could execute folks over drug dealing, there would be a lot of folks set up and executed for offending the wrong person.
I agree that if we shot drug dealers summarily we would soon have drug abuse nearing 0. But even as anti drug as I am, I don't think that is worth the abuse that would happen with that policy.

Apparently not.
People are going to drink alcohol and take drugs. It's the human condition for many people. Legalize it, tax it, control it to the extent possible. Look at the war on drugs in the United States that has been going on for 60 or so years now.
How is that going? God knows how much money we spend on law enforcement, incarceration, etc. It's stupid.

Trafficking & substance abuse are 2 different things to me. Some sympathy for abusers, zero for trafficking. If you're doing one to support the other you're still trafficking.

two dude where caught in cali a couple years ago, driving a box truck / large cargo van with SEVERAL 55gal drums of liquid fentanyl - they were RELEASED without bail, but promised to show up ... guess what the result was?

LHeym500What have we come to as US citizens that here we have folks bring sympathetic and lamenting a government having the power to summarily execute people. A communist government at that.
In the last calendar year I have got 3, 10-15 year sentences on drug dealing. Most the max the statute lets of have is 10.
I have long argued scaling the level of trafficking degree to the amount of drugs. I do not have the virus. The more poison you sell, the higher the felony. Nope.
