Point out to us in your own quote where she indicated that he said the military was going to kill liberals. Here's what he said: “We have some very bad people,” Trump continued. “We have some sick people, radical left lunatics. And I think they’re the—and it should be easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can’t let that happen.” -Every damn thing is your own fault if you are any good.

More to the point, which you always refuse to address: trump said we should use the military against American citizens whose political views trump disagrees with. You good with that? -Every damn thing is your own fault if you are any good.

Walz did send in the National Guard to deal with leftist violence (Floyd riots)… Are you not ok with that? Seems like Trump is saying call out the guard for riots. Just remember it should happen for any riot, and not just left wing ones. The leftist pundits put a pretty extreme view on anything Trump says, and given his past it seems to gain traction in the media.

To clarify, it is unlikely that Trump was speaking to use the military against people who only disagree with him politically. It is more likely he was speaking of using the military against lawbreakers who also happen to be radical leftists. Of course, in all cases, Trump's lack of ability to articulate what he means, leaves him open to misinterpretation with virtually every statement he makes. Same thing happens to Joe Biden. Of course, to the Lefties, this is Trump turning the military loose on American citizens. To the Trumpeteers, this is Trump protecting America from domestic terrorism. Both viewpoints are heavily slanted bullshit. Like such things as the Patriot Act, and Homeland Security, any policy is open to abuse and misinterpretation. Regards, Bill

That is against Federal Law and what the Founders actually cared about. I am not done with what he said. The Military, by Fed Law, is not permitted to police within the United States. Trump means what he says. The quote is full and stand for itself. Either way, the US Military cannot act as police inside the United States. The exception, by Fed law, is the DC Guard which can be deputized as police.
|

A GOv can do that. A President cannot use an Infantry Division as police w the exception bring the DC Guard which be Fed law can be deputized within DC.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Trump suggest a military tribunal for Liz Cheney? Trump has said the American liberals were a bigger enemy than the Taliban or other Islamic terrorists. I do believe trump would use the military against political opponents if allowed.

Yes, and exposing his hypocrisy… BTW where is it constitutional to call out the airborne to escort kids to class? Eisenhower did that and no one complained… sounds like police work to me. The politicians hypocrisy on this issue (and the lawyers) is pretty impressive.

I don't personally remember the reaction to any of Ike's actions since I was 2 when he left office, but he WAS the last Republican President who put his Duty to the Constitution above his self-interest. "If you’re innocent why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”- Donald Trump

Ike sent in the 101st I think it was to escort students in mandated desegregation of a university (if memory recalls from class) in Arkansas. While there was some outrage expressed by the democrats at the time, it seems that folks on the left who cry posse comitatus about use of the guard tend to forget that one. IMO, the guard should have been called out for DC, and all of the “summer of brotherly love” rioting that happened. Plenty of inconsistencies and hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle from last time. Hell, if I was president or governor, I would publicly call the guard up for civil unrest relating to the election now, and have them plan on being out from 11/6 through inauguration now. Let the boys in green make their plans for how they will enforce things, and you can always stand down if nothing happens. Stomp that crap out before it even starts. It may be an overreaction, but doing it now precludes it being seen as “partisan politics”.

And his appointed Acting Secretary of Defense specifically prohibited the D.C. Guard from being issued any equipment without his personal, explicit authorization, then made himself unavailable during the crucial time frame. You can keep trying to absolve Trump but it won't work.
