Say "mostly," instead of "uniquely," and I'll agree.

That's one of the reasons I'm not a Democrat.

I seriously doubt you will find a Republican politician blaming a car maker for making their catalytic converters too easy to steal. Guns are different matter….

My catalytic converter was stolen off my Tacoma in law school.

I Jerry Rigged straight pipes to finish out the semester.

Thing sounded like a weed eater crossed with propeller driven air plane.

I am sure the local politician would not like to hear a bunch of vehicles so Jerry Rigged.

I believe the Prius lineup is hybrid, not full EV.

In this state, you would have been arrested if caught. If you have an defective catalytic converter, our law is that it can't be driven until replaced... Is it ignored? By some. Usually a straight pipe between the converter and the muffler makes no noticeable sound, though.

Maybe so. It is illegal not to have such converter, but I made my police report. I got the thing going. Doubt anyone would cite me with made police report. I drove it from Cincinnati to home for Half a seminar. Then I gave it to my brother for his first vehicle. Before he died, it looked like he had destroyed it. However, it always started. To this day, that Tacoma is still running with straight pipes. More important things to worry about.

Most sever thing that would happen is a citation, the Court would order you to fix it, and then dismiss.

My brother drove it until he got killed in another vehicle. It sat for 3 years years. It had a little tree growing out the dirt he was hauling when he parked it in the bed. I sold it for 1k bucks (actually 900 dollars). Did not have a drop of oil in it when the guy picked it up. It fired right up.

It is a 4 cylinder, manual shift 5 speed.

If Toyota had not made it with such good ground clearance the thief(s) would not have been able to get under it. Confound Toyota.

One thing I would bet doughnuts on. A bunch of so sounded Tacomas, and the council woman would change her mind.

I have lived in some rough and rural places. I always found it funny the place my catalytic converter was stolen was an apartment complex on the KY side of Cincinnati.

I need to call up the guy I sold it to and drive it. I have not drove a standard transmission since 2012.
