I found his article really interesting! https://www.politico.eu/articl...-country-eu-ukraine/ Its shows many things, including how much Russia is loosing in its influence as public opinions turn. Also how much covert support there has been for Ukraine and how much in the long term the west including the US has to gain out of closing down Russian gas and oil exports. Countries like greece that really do need economic exports will hopefully do well out of all this and In my view a europe looking after itself is a far better option for all.

That was an interesting read. Thanks. "Early in the morning, at break of day, in all the freshness and dawn of one's strength, to read a book - I call that vicious!"- Friedrich Nietzsche

I read it as money talks. The US and UK were willing to pay Bulgaria for arms for Ukraine, and the Bulgarians liked the money. If the Russians had offered more for the diesel and ammo, it would have gone there instead. Let’s not imagine morality where it isn’t. Like politicians.

I could argue back that if that was the case, why were the weapons not offered too russia as well then? because it would have gone down well with the pro russian section of the govt. No I think this is a case of the powers that be supporting the ukrainian position.

Meanwhile Trump and Tucker Carlson are still supporting Russia. Go figure what's happened to repugs...... Trump: "Putin is a Genius" "Hezbollah is very smart"

Because they can't afford it? They have no cash or way of transferring it. Russia had lots of ammo and weapons at the beginning of the invasion... Ukraine was behind the 8-ball. Now, Russia would undoubtedly like to buy any weapons available, but the inability to transfer funds is certainly hurting them. And no one wants an IOU from Putin at this point.
