I’m a bit surprised that there’s so much panty wadding over this.
It’s not like the East Wing is some historical treasure - it was built in 1941 or so.
Much of the interior of the White House was demolished and rebuilt in about 1950 I believe.
I’ve heard that the United States is the only western government that doesn’t have a grand meeting place for large gatherings of dignitaries and guests so maybe it’s time for that.
Looking at the architectural model of the ball room, it looks like it will be an impressive addition to the people’s house if the most powerful nation on earth.
Every administration going forward will benefit from it either Republican, Democrat or God willing a third party.
