Not sure who I have more respect for. The British PM for blowing smoke up Trump's pizzle and having Trump respond like a puppy needing love or Zelenskyy for standing up to an American leader that has decided to cow tow to Russia and having Trump respond like a petulant child. While on the one hand the former is far more likely to get you what you want, the latter is far more indicative of how a man behaves. I can appreciate though, that someone like Lane would lean toward the former approach.

Just posted this on another thread but I will expand, it seems if you criticize Zelensky or Ukraine in any way or do not want to just give them the entire value of the U.S. then you are Putin's best friend. I truly want someone to tell me what is the limit the U.S. should give? Is there a limit, how much money should we continue to borrow so we can give money to them.

I saw where someone mentioned the money spent during the cold war, what was our national debt then?

How did he run his mouth? Ive watch the vid too many times, and he simply stated his position which was that Putin had a history of breaking agreements in this war and that really he needed some assurances before signing a deal.
He was sitting there listening to Vance insult his nation. He sat there while they made fun of his dress code.

In a heated Oval Office meeting on February 28, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky remarked to U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance that he was speaking too loudly. This occurred amidst a tense exchange involving Zelensky, Vance, and U.S. President Donald Trump. As reported in various sources, Zelensky began to say, "Please, you think that if you will speak very loudly about the war—" before being interrupted by Trump, who defended Vance, stating, "He's not speaking loudly." The comment from Zelensky about Vance’s volume was part of a broader confrontation where Zelensky challenged Vance’s assertions about diplomacy with Russia, leading to an escalation of the argument. Posts on X also reflect this sentiment, with users noting Zelensky’s remark about Vance being "too loud" as a notable moment in the exchange. While the exact phrasing may differ slightly across accounts, the consensus is that Zelensky criticized Vance’s loudness during the discussion.

Freedom is not free, that is the attitude that won the cold war, the attitude that Reagan had. Trumps tax cuts cost many fold what helping Ukraine stand up to the Russians cost.

Trump should have been willing to help Ukraine because that is the American way. The real issue here is that Trump not being able to blackmail Zelenskyy years ago is what led to his first impeachment trial, now that thin skinned narcissist wants revenge. Pathetic that you defend Trump's behavior Lane, but I am not surprised in the least.

I didn't realise Zelensky was the NATO leader.
That graph has nothing to do with the behaviour in the Oval Office.
The truth is there are only two options, Trump and Vance orchestrated an attack to bully Zelensky.. Or Trump the master negotiator got played into a situation where he looses world support.

Your pick.

What I heard ‘the room’ saying was: “You should show some gratitude by giving me your resources“.

The ‘deal’ was one sided, with the excuse that Zelenskyy would simply be paying for help already tendered. Zelenskyy in turn refused unless there was some assurance of security for Ukraine.

Putin would get the territory, Trump would get the rare earths, and the Ukrainians would get extinction. Sounds a lot like the Israeli/Palestinian sort of deal these guys push.

What is so asinine about that statement is that it is a two way street. Apparently Lane’s view is that Trump can be an ass clown in public, but others need to behave like subservient wimps. Nothing Lane says these days surprises me. He is a full on disciple of OJ.

As I immediately suspected, that chart is intentionally misleading.

Since most NATO members don't have huge military formations deployed literally globally, their defense spending is almost wholly concentrated in NATO, while American defense spending supports fleets and air forces in the Pacific, in Korea, in various parts of Africa, frequently a carrier task group in the Indian Ocean (or has Trump renamed it?) or the Persian Gulf, none of which is directly related to NATO defense.

But it looks good as long as it's not presented in context.

just to be clear, Obama said, (found the quote) "the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because, you know, the Cold War’s been over for 20 years."

China is out biggest and worst enemy - russia is a bunch of busted field equipment, conscripts, and the worst threat is their nukes -- of which china has better ...

my fear in russia, especially before the wagner dude got shot out of the sky, was a push to moscow, and a nuclear exchange --

i have near zero fear of russia rolling over the eastern front into Europe ..

Nukes are on subs -- we MIGHT have a chance with ICMBs, but a shot from 2 miles off the coast is going to hit -- and bombers run silent run deep --

I don't care about a backfire bomber being intercepted off alaska -- it's a prop-job, ffs - there is nothing to compare to our b2 - but i am worried about boomers and the 2-5 mile shot, that won't even show up on radar -
