There are so many mistakes in the article it is obvious the writer has no clue about firearms.

Facts don't matter to the antigun crowd, only unfounded sensationalism. Gun shots aren't meant to feel good, they are meant to kill or at least wound. All gun shots are dangerous and damaging.
Maybe we should outlaw any motor vehicle larger a subcompact because the larger vehicles cause a lot more damage to people.

So, Saeed, does a citizen of your country have the right to keep an AR-15?

Good question. If he's going to criticize Americans, he shouldn't hide where he lives.

Every citizen here has the right to own firearms.

Including M16 and AK47.

Women have more rights, and respect, and have jobs in every conceivable field.

They are treated as women.

Something you lot have lost the concept of.

I see that the "woman" Biden has appointed as an example for women has a dick and a pair of hairy balls!

The same "woman" appointed by NIKE as an Ambassador for "women".

You give more respect to a bloody queer freaks, with two balls and a dick, pretending to be a woman, than to actually women.

Who deserve it.

In my wildest dreams, I could NEVER have imagined your society falling so low in the human race!

What a load of bullshit. Your country exists because of the United States and that's a result of geographic location. You have oil. If it wasn't for that, you and all your relatives and fellow countrymen would still be living in tents and riding camels for transportation.

You should be thanking us every day.

Just imagine!

No one in the world would exist if it wasn't for you! rotflmo

The biggest, most corrupt, most stupidly ruled, country on the face of the earth.

REPARATIONS?

BLM?

STREETS FULL OF SHIT?

Kamala is a PROPER NUMBER TWO.

She is in charge of immigration?

Biden is NUMBER ONE?

I am not sure he actually wipes his arse on his own.

Does he actually KNOW where his arse is?

May be not.

Just look at who he picked to be an example of a WOMAN.

A HAIRY BALLED, FREAK WITH A DICK!

Yes.

The world wouldn't exist without you lot! rotflmo

In other words, the world would go on and be a lot better off in fact, without any American Democrats, Socialists, Democratic/Socialists or Communists. Not to put words in Saeed's mouth.

It’s the Daily Mail what do you expect? Anyone who relies on that gossip rag for their view of what is going on in the world is at best only getting 20% of the picture.

Most of its readership are only interested in the latest photo of todays vacuous celeb in a bikini, or what a reality TV star had for breakfast.

Good question. If he's going to criticize Americans, he shouldn't hide where he lives.

I've lived in 7 countries (including the US) on 4 continents. So I think I have a better view on how different countries compare than most here. That's also why such questions arise with me, because I've experienced different perspectives.

If looking at intential homicide, the US sits at 6.5 per 100.000 per year. Much lower than many caraibic island and countries in middle America, but a lot higher than countries in Europe. Germany sits at 0.8, France at 1.3, UK at 1.1 and Spain at 0.6. Only New Hampshire has a rate lower than the highest of these 4, at 0.9. The second lowest in the US, Maine, sits at 1.6.
That doesn't tell the whole story though, there is also killing in self defense, unintentional etc. The nr of deaths by firearms in the US has been steadily increasing in the US since about 2000, from about 28,000 to nearly 49,000 in 2021. Why has that grown so much?
It's not that criminals aren't locked up in the US, the incarcaration rate is by far the highest too at 629 per 100,000. Only Turkey comes close at 579. But looking at the same European countries again (Germany - 70, France - 119, UK - 136, Spain - 113).

So why do Americans kill each other about 5 times more often than Europeans do? And why do American lock each other up many more times than Europeans do?

The thing is, I don't think many people in the US see it as an issue. The killing doesn't happen in their social environment/they think they're not affected, etc. Yet, Americans are much more aware of potential trouble in daily life than people in Europe.

Another a strange thing is, that my brother in law (from Nothern Idaho) warned my wife, when we moved to the UK (where I'm now), that she should look out for rapists, as there was so much rape in Europe. In truth, the rape-rate in Euope is very similar to the US (both around 27.3 per 100,000), and Idaho (~41 per 100,000) is above the US average. People always think that elseweher it's worse compared to where they live, but if you live in many places, you get a different perspective.

Did people here move states within the US? How did actual experience compare to expectations of the new state? More or less crime than anticipated?

Don’t forget that the statistics are not necessarily equivalent.

Each nation decides how they are derived and reported.

Sometimes folks use “estimates” as stats.

I’ve only lived in the US.

I’ve visited over 20 nations.

I can’t say I really felt unsafe anywhere- even in the Middle East… in general… but I was not living there, and I was pretty much living in condition yellow. I have felt endangered twice in my life, and both times I was armed. Once here, once overseas.

Actual perception of danger tends to be too late.

As to within the US, I was much more aware of crime in urban areas. To the point of actually carrying a weapon of my own accord daily in some spots. One can be concerned about safety and preparedness without being frightened or actively feeling endangered.

There are some really funny ones (funny until you realize that they are real and enforceable).
