And on A political forum I must say I appreciate people with a legal knowledge who are able to give an insight into why and how a law or situation came to be.

I can recall a number of times when members here have answered such a question when Ive been unsure of something.

It's kind of funny, but on the other forum (for writers) where I hang out, I'm known as a curmudgeonly conservative for being in favor of gun rights and against the ultra-leftwing agenda.

One of the ways I got in hot water was by refusing to call one person "they" or "them" just because their sex is ambiguous. If you say, "Joe went to the store. They bought a bag of chips," I'm going to wonder who the other person is.

I too have lawyers in my family. My entire career is spent with lawyers . One segment of my business is dealing with New York attorneys who bill $1500-$2000 a hour. Most of them are woke lefties too. I am originally from democratic Chicago. My family lawyers are not right wing.They do not support the open borders or the transgender movement so many defend on here. We still don’t discuss politics on family gatherings or hunting trips.
