HerrBergSocialist appealing to the uninformed masses
So tariffs are paid in the US. EITHER by companies or by consumers.
Everybody have known this for a few hundred years.
Just another socialist appealing to the masses.
Walmart should STOP trying to blame Tariffs as the reason for raising prices throughout the chain. Walmart made BILLIONS OF DOLLARS last year, far more than expected. Between Walmart and China they should, as is said, “EAT THE TARIFFS,” and not charge valued customers ANYTHING. I’ll be watching, and so will your customers!!!

TumbleweedIt’s clear Trump never understood how tariffs work. He actually seems to think they “bring money in”!
“Trillions of dollars!” my ass. All he’s doing is harming everyone involved and throwing a monkey wrench in global trade. The man is dumb as a rock. The only thing he’s good at is grifting.

Given the offerings you guys put out there, I’m not at all distressed.
Actually, we vote for a Prime Minister - same as a POTUS, but usually a lot smarter and exponentially more ethical. But I wouldn’t expect you to know that, being psychologically captivated by the glory of Donald John Trump, so no offence intended.
My only criticism is how he relates to us, and to a lesser extent the rest of the world. When somebody declares outright that they intend to destroy our economy and take over my country, yes, I hate that sonofabitch with every fibre of my being.

jeffeossoDo you VOTE for a PM or does they party you voted for reach consensus?

LHeym500It is too bad Canada not have subjects, but citizens.
Yet, honest legal distinctions mean nothing to folks who want to be wrong.

whatever helps you sleep at night, "dye prices"

LHeym500Legal facts like Canadians are citizens. They are not even part of the United Kingdom anymore.
You want to talk about citizenship, stop advocating for the Executive to exercise power he has not constitutional right to.
Just calling a President Trump dumb is not going to cut it. The problem is not Trump. It is your advocacy against recognized limitions upon the Executive.

I hate to be the one to have to tell you this, but this is not countries discussing. It's individuals, people with free will, in a discussion thread on the Internet.
The trump fanboi's ability to see a politician writing this and STILL believe the politician is a conservative... it's brainwashery on north korean levels.
1) Even the most dimwitted should now see that the idea of foreign entities paying tariffs was a lie. If you were once told so, you were lied to. Agree?
2) An elected leader of state trying to meddle in the operations of private companies owned by other people is not a sign of a healthy democracy - it's banana republic level.
3) The idea that it's the role of the politician to micromanage companies to fulfill their whims is not a conservative one. That is a socialist idea. If a person thinks thinks trump is right on this, then that person is a socialist. Maybe a closet socialist who hasn't come out yet.
Shoot away, go have a discussion about canada

No, they elected a crook who was Justin's advisor. A crook who has had business dealings with the Trump family and who owes his election to Donald Trump, or so Trump claims. Trumps followers deny this. Apparently, they can pick and choose which statements they can choose to get behind, and just call the rest "fake news".
In the US, the president is elected directly by the people, not by delegates from the states in a "winner takes all" scenario. Right?
Of course, when it comes to the tariffs, Canada's response has been every bit as stupid as Trump's opening. In effect, Canada has said. "So, you're going to make your people pay more for our goods? Well, eff you, we'll make our citizens pay more for your goods too! You don't have the market cornered on stupid."
Meanwhile, Trump's threats to Walmart are just an example of American free enterprise in action. Regards, Bill.
So Trump effectively concedes in his Truth Social post that consumers pay the tariffs (otherwise, why does Walmart need to "eat them"). Then the Secretary of the Treasury goes on the Sunday shows and concedes that consumers pay the tariffs. And I will bet you a dollar to a donut that there are still MAGAts that will argue until spittle flies from their mouth that tariffs are paid by foreign governments and are a way for the US to make money off of foreign countries. When you are dealing with a constituent base that is prepared to believe everything they are told and are too dense to question what they are told, what hope is there?

Mazdakism, none of socialism is really new...
