Nine witnesses in the criminal cases against former President Donald Trump have received significant financial benefits, including large raises from his campaign, severance packages, new jobs, and a grant of shares and cash from Trump’s media company.

The benefits have flowed from Trump’s businesses and campaign committees, according to a ProPublica analysis of public disclosures, court records and securities filings. One campaign aide had his average monthly pay double, from $26,000 to $53,500. Another employee got a $2 million severance package barring him from voluntarily cooperating with law enforcement. And one of the campaign’s top officials had her daughter hired onto the campaign staff, where she is now the fourth-highest-paid employee.

That's a very convincing piece of journalism. I can only hope it's factual and true information since I have no experience with that source, and it doesn't appear to be corroborated. Maybe it is, but I didn't find it.

It's actually stunning, assuming it's true.

It's exactly what we can expect in a next term for Trump(ism), except multiply it thousands of times. It's the political corruption Trump spawns, and GOPers like it.

But this is only part of the spawn. The institutions and the administrative work force would be turned into his loyalists, in the same manner described in the article, plus other means.

There are thousands of means to ends when political corruption is doing its thing. It's all planned and endorsed.

Real conservatives aren't radicalized. Thus "radicalized conservative" is an oxymoron. Yet there are many radicalized republicans.

Per my far-right friend: "reality sucks"

D.J. Trump aka Trumpism's Founding Farter, aka Farter Martyr. Qualifications: flatulence - mental, oral and anal.

Propublica is among the most careful and rigorous media outlets on the planet. They have been in existence for 17 years and have won, I think, 9 Pulitzers.

They really are the gold standard for investigative journalism.

They uncovered the billionaires benefits to Thomas and Alito.

Dire Straits:
"You - bangin' on the bongos like a chimpanzee Oh that ain't workin' that's the way you do it Get your money for nothin' and chicks for free."

This Maddow video is partially opinion, of course, but she gives plenty of facts and evidence in support.

Her take on it all, current events, made me think of Dire Straits - that's the way you do it, fascist style. I could re-write the lyrics for that song, appropriately, to be played at the republican national convention. I can hear it and see the video on the big screen now. Can't you? Smiler

Trump's threats and bluster fail to intimidate Americans who see guilty verdict as reasonable

Rachel Maddow shows how Donald Trump routinely threatens violence and mayhem from his supporters if the American legal system tries to hold him to account, and yet at every stage of his legal prosecution, no one answers his calls for violence. Not even when he is criminally convicted. But what Trump's supporters do instead is target with terror the specific people involved in holding Trump accountable, judges, witnesses, jurors, in the hopes of discouraging anyone else from trying it. And so, Maddow argues, Americans must support the people who are threatened and remain unafraid of Donald Trump.
