They've been bludgeoned into submission, I guess. They don't even try because trump is so fucking stupid and his positions are so indefensible.

I'm gonna miss this place. I'll assume we'll be back in business if harris wins and we start seeing the lawsuits.

He and Team have already started that some time ago, just in case. As I understand it, the lawsuits I'm talking about were filed in anticipation that the numbers aren't in his favor and may have to be resolved through the courts before certainty.

I don't know how that works or will work out, but the scheme is already in play.

Hopefully, it won't be close. Not holding my breath.

The sooner we can get trump in the rear-view mirror, the better.

If he is elected, we'll survive him. I don't subscribe to the apocalyptic scenarios if he wins. Shit, he's already been POTUS...unbelievably enough. We'll survive him again if it happens.

Given the record turnout for early voting in places like Georgia and Michigan Kamala may well top Joe's record of 81 million votes.

You know the thing is....he is just such an embarrassing idiot. He's a moron and acts like a moron on a regular basis...dancing at a campaign rally for 30 minutes. I marvel at the idea that folks like Lane Easter can support somebody that is such a demonstrable dumbass. But...here, we are.

CULT.

I just got back from Europe. I can’t name names but I was with a who’s who group on the Island of Mallorca for a function. The number one question I got was: Do you think Trump will win? We really hope so!

I think he’s got it. tu2

That seals it. Some folks from somewhere in Spain.

Let me get the EC, the Governors, all 50 state legislators, and Congress on the phone. We will call off the election.

Anyone who thinks it is not going to be close shows how foolish they are.

It will be close coming down to three state combination for either one.

Georgia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina wins it.

Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan wins it

Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota cause a tie.

That is not conjecture. That is knowing how to read the EC map.

I was on Mallorca last year. The majority of the folks I encountered were appalled in relation to American support of trump. Just like everybody else in Europe. They are appalled and they think he is an asshole and a lunatic.

Kind of like you.

I've been to Europe multiple times since 2016.

Europeans think people in the US are crazy. When you bring trump up, they just laugh. They accept that US citizens like Lane are nuts....and that they vote for people like trump that are nuts.

We just apologized for the US nuts.

I have a large European clientele and have yet to meet one like you described. Of course these are highly successful people. rotflmo

There's always a who's who group, and they always think they are the center of the universe, stoking each other's egos and money and ideology.

Thinking about a time in history when your who's who was so utterly wrong as now - one example is Charles Lindbergh.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...ivities_and_politics

Excerpt:

Lindbergh's reaction to the Kristallnacht was entrusted to his diary: "I do not understand these riots on the part of the Germans", he wrote. "It seems so contrary to their sense of order and intelligence. They have undoubtedly had a difficult 'Jewish problem', but why is it necessary to handle it so unreasonably?"[201] Later though, many would note the careful and orderly fashion in which the Holocaust was carried out, with Jews identified, shipped to concentration camps, and most murdered.[202]

I will happily admit that the folks I was talking to were just regular people in bars and coffee shops. I don't know and didn't get to meet the important folks that Lane hangs with.

Never met one person in Europe that thought trump was a good idea other than other American tourists. And, they were in the minority of American tourists.

My exposure has been a few weeks at best and I don't present it as statistically significant, it's not. But, they all thought he was nuts and were mystified by American support for him. Which ought to tell you something.

The Americans I love and respect quit caring what Europeans had to say 250 years ago.

But, I do work for a lot of Europeans and my experience is 180.

Horse people like to partake of a wee dram or a pint or two or both. Big Grin I have about given it up myself but I am often forced to still be present. Wink

Ok, but why? Why could it be close? That's what I don't get.

I thought Biden was a terrible choice last time. I believe he was elected more as an "anybody but Trump" candidate which I understand. So here we are four years later and Trumps opposition still can't manage a better candidate than, "anybody but Trump". It bewilders me. Both parties have all the time in the world to groom and field really good candidates for decades to come and this is the best we could do in 2024.

Yes, I remain very perplexed regarding the attraction to Trump, but I am equally perplexed regarding the Democrats in ability to capitalize.
