I think this is an excellent idea. Hard for me to believe that it hasn't already been done everywhere. Being the "old school" type I fully agree but the long-awaited move goes against the principles of our modern woke system. And ... while still a student and until the kid grows up and starts providing for itself, no piercings and similar "fashionable" deportment like that but parents and learning institutions today are what they are.
