Live within our means. Repeal until we can afford with existing revenue.

A balanced budget amendment is the only hope.

What mandates and programs would you cut?

Do you think a majority of voters or Congress would support your cuts? No?

Then how about quit floating in conservative la-la land, and offer a realistic solution to our budget problems?

Eliminate the tax cuts and cut some programs, the only thing that occurs to me.

The valuation of stock should be taxed as income.

That would mean folks like Bill Gayes would stop paying less than you and I do.

Because when you repeal the corporate tax cuts you will see pull backs by companies and thus revenue will decrease.

A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. I wish everyone the world over had the dominating spirit that motivates Texans.– Billy Clayton, Speaker of the Texas House

No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

I really doubt that there would be that much trouble if we cut the budget across the board by 10%.

If we started playing games with electively cutting things at different rates based on the programs, then there would be much anger and debate.

I would have no issues with no net spending increases until the budget is balanced, either.

You got elected to make the hard choices, if you want to spend money on something new, you need to cut to do so. No more deficit spending unless we are in a congressionally declared war.
