I keep seeing these terms used by would-be despots seeking either to shove their views down my throat or prevent me from having my own independent views on civic and political matters of the day.
On another somewhat despicable (muzzleloading) forum, I hear dark mutterings by assholes who don't use their real names that "the left arm must be amputated."
Where? At the wrist? The elbow? The shoulder?
If the issue is extremism, then surely the "right arm must be amputated" as well to ensure balance and symmetry.
This business of partisan factionalism is in every way the toxic sludge the Founders feared.
To hell with political parties and their divisive agendas. God bless and preserve the pragmatists!

Bill, I don't think it is so much of a right or left issue. I think it has become the perversion of society that is dragging the world down. This issue is not limited to the USA.
