I don’t really get too worked up about DEI. I believe discrimination is a bad thing, but I’m not for hiring someone who is unqualified. The idea that people in other countries would follow his dumbass commands is just ludicrous, and deranged.

Forty years ago, I watched a company hire a young black man for a job they knew he couldn't do, and instead of teaching him how, they let him sink to prove a point. It was mid-recession so it didn't really matter to their bottom line. I don't feel mean enough this morning to put the company name in play.

DEI has two parts. Hiring is the easy part, if the new employee has the necessary intellect. After hiring, you may have to teach, if the knowledge base needs upgraded. If you don't have the resources to teach, you'd better stick to old white guys and pay the piper.

Ditto on hiring unqualified people. The problem is that plenty of qualified people don't get hired because of sexism, racism and just plain stupid prejudices.

But, it's all good now. With the trump administration's elimination of DEI, employers can discriminate at their discretion. Anybody with a single brain-cell in their head ought to know that trump pushes the position because it appeals to the racist, sexist, misogynistic knuckleheads that support him.
