I get it. Christie run has been in prosecuting President Trump in the court of public opinion in primaries in an attempt to bring President Trump a primary defeat. The problem is a) no one is really listening, and 2) Christie is going nowhere. Now, Nikki Haley has risen from single digits to the clear number 2 polling 20 something percent to President Trump’s at least low 40 percent. If the goal is to deny the undeserving President Trump the nomination, the best thing Christie can do is drop out, endorse, and campaign with Nikki Haley. That goes for the rest of the lot. I hear Nikki Haley is beating President Biden head to head in national polling.

President Trump wok the nomination the first time because you had up-teen pretenders fracturing the vote. He was able to break to the pool with 30 percent here and there. Gov. Haley is the clear number two. Folks need to get out now, endorse her and campaign for her. The alternative is President Trump taking an early and commanding delegate lead. Of folks want to wait to New Hampshire. Okay, I’ll watch. However, if the national polls hold in New Hampshire, everyone needs to make this a top two person race.

I think you are simplifying it. Trump won because there was a multitude of candidates and he separated himself by making it a populist message with a statement of simple common sense ideas. HRC was let off for things that the non-political class gets convicted for. Trump made that a rallying cry and it allowed the man to get a lot of folks behind him that otherwise would never have. The GOP voter was a bit sick of moderate or nice guy candidates who lost to folks they should have beat. They agreed with the idea of fighting fire with fire... a bad guy who can win is better than a good guy who loses because he won't get in with his opponent. The GOP finally had a situation where they chose electability over character... and look what happened. It wasn't just a fractured vote. That being said, if the GOP wants to win, they better get someone other than Trump. The polling shows Trump barely winning in the general right now... but Haley is in widespread landslide numbers (win by 10-15%) vs. Biden, and Trump only wins vs. Biden, not any other democrat candidate. I think the odd are actually pretty good the dems will pull some sort of switch at the convention because Biden looks so bad, and then we are looking at a Democrat president and a democrat congress- without a check or balance. That is not good for the country.

May not matter. Media keeps saying "...RFK has the name but, but, but...". But nothing, He has the pedigree, wore a Carhartt shirt to an interview (dog-whistle to a working man, invisible to the Davos elite), and he knows where the bodies are buried. He has a year to be heard and means to speak. It's way too soon to write him off. TomP Our country, right or wrong. When right, to be kept right, when wrong to be put right. I think Christie keeps hoping trump will show up for a debate so he can confront him in front of a national TV audience. And, while I doubt that will happen, I sure would like to see it. -Every damn thing is your own fault if you are any good.

He reminds me of that craven RINO Collins from here in Maine. His voice, regardless of any good ideas spewing from it, is too grating to be taken seriously.
