Trump did break a few policy logjams, for good or ill, and maybe there were no good options to choose on some issues.
Biden's exit from Afghanistan may have been one of those issues where there simply was no right answer.
I shudder at the thought of another term, but when Trump has no re-election to consider, maybe he'll listen to experienced advice this time.

Persians had a little saying, "...when the shah is a fool, he attacks Dagestan...".
I take this to mean that they know they will be led by a fool from time to time, and they live with the prospect.

Nonsense. When he was president you were not yet old enough to understand what you were seeing.
Would you say that Dan Quayle was a better choice of vice president than Kamala Harris?
He was impeachment insurance, same as Bush was for Reagan, except that the joke went too far.

Trump broke logjams alright, the logs of indecency, unrest, chaos, and fascism were cut loose.

Another term for Trump would be his last, under current law. But he could change all that and would if he could.

Trump listen? You're dreaming.

My thoughts are that no republican candidate can deliver the conservative agenda. Most Americans won't tolerate it.

Trump did do a few things that were positive, but at a horrific price, in my mind.

People carp about his tax cuts, which while I understand why they object, I wasn’t really opposed to the concept, just the execution.

His SCOTUS picks were much preferable to democrat ones, again in my biased opinion.

That he didn’t get us in another war was good, but how he did it was again, awful.

In fact, to me, now, his successes seem more accidental than astute work on his part.

When you say you preferred his SCOTUS picks, you mean the picks that resulted in this? A woman in Florida being forced to carry a baby to term that was born with no kidneys? And died within minutes of birth. Be proud of it. barf

Women should be allowed to choose.

Get with it MM.

The folks to blame are the state legislators.

And unlike you, I do have some involvement in abortions.

They still are happily performing late term EAB’s in MN. Even for TX residents.

Legislatures empowered by Judicial Activism, and beholden to Organized Evangelical Movement.

We have also seen how President Trump’s lower Fed Court Judges have been an embarrassment see the Judge in FL handling the Records case. Also, see the Fed Judge in TX trying to overturn contraception access.

According to the right wing, that was never even going to be on the radar. Didn't take long. Give them an inch & back to the stone ages.

Trump treated the country as badly as he treated E. Jean Carroll

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news...cb62ee878e6ccd&ei=52

The verdict finding former President Donald Trump liable for sexual battery does not tell us much new about Trump’s character. His defenders are wrong, however, to say his performance as president somehow makes his awful character unimportant.

From a conservative vantage point, the record shows Trump was a bad president.

Kind of like when Handgun Control Incorporated stated that they would never ban long guns. Mission creep...

You get with it. Dobbs enabled the idiot state legislators in Texas to ban abortion. Understand?

And, Texas women shouldn't have to travel to Minnesota so they can control their own bodies.

The majority of your friends and neighbors in TX disagree with you.

If your view was the majority view where you live, it wouldn’t happen.

You’re the lawyer…. Is homicide a federal crime or a state crime?

Why is legalizing one killing a state law, but another needs to be federal, in a bigger sense?

I actually have quite a bit of sympathy for the pro choice side, but their antics continually disgust me. Probably like the right for you.

I agree that it’s wrong to make all abortions a crime.

But the continual funding of planned parenthood by the government was wrong. They spend way too much time and money on policy for them to get government money.

The continual interference with reasonable restrictions by using Roe as a right (pretty much every restriction was litigated continually) made lots of folks upset with the pro choice crowd. Looks like now it’s the other side’s turn to make the malleable middle annoyed…

But at least you have a choice to move if you don’t like it… and TX seems to be a place attracting folks unlike the liberal places… like here.

Show me a single legitimate poll in Texas that doesn't show a good majority of voters in favor of abortion rights. I don't think I've seen one. Politicians often go against the grain, counting on other issues to smooth it over at election time.

Maybe we could try the co-president thing, or a triumvirate with John Bolton or Henry Kissinger to break tie votes.

Seesawing between ideological dead ends is getting to be annoying, and may have consequences at some point.

Then there's the small matter of the federal budget, the two parties take turns spending profusely on opposite priorities but always spend.
