Quite a few articles, and countries, are beginning to talk about Zelensky and his handlers in the West.

Think China is just sitting in the wings waiting for the right moment to assume control over Russia.
Let there west wear them down fiscally.
Not unlike African countries with little drama.

Presumably you mean the West destroying Russia.

Probably this is an example of another kind of implosion, where an authoritarian leader has been in power too long, determined to stay in power, ratcheting up insanity. Authoritarian regimes have ended this way throughout history.

It's been a long time coming.

I have yet to understand Putin's supposed rationale of destroying Ukraine, which as I understand it is the perceived existential threat from NATO.

There is even talk that the Russians might blow up a nuke power facility, knowing the disaster that will cause. It's a strategic move, disregarding human lives and well-being, the environ, the usefulness of the breadbasket in Ukraine, or morals in the regular sense. It will be done or not based on retention or expansion of power.

Yet for now, NATO and Ukraine are stronger than before the invasion.

This is insaneism.

Destroying Russia is a good idea like destroying Iraq was. I think even the dimmmest bulbs are seeing that glimmer of light.

Outside it's warehoused nukes, Russia was hardly more than a regional threat on par with RSA, Iran, Chile. This was known, demonstrable, obvious.

In order to avoid a literal and metaphorical Chernobyl multiplied by ten thousand I think everyone realizes now that Russia needs to remain stable, alive, secure. Everyone liked the "Budapest Accord" at the time and anyone with brains still likes it because it secured nuke weapons on Ukrainian soil, regardless the Ukrainian dipshits welfare.

In the same way, Russian WMDs need to remain secure and Russian stability is the easiest and current route. Fucking that up is a global catastrophe.

I think countries like Russia and N. Korea offer nothing to the world besides shit holes. They are like pieces of a giant puzzle, blank spaces where people exist but otherwise just a null.

I don’t think anyone is talking about destroying Russia.

Getting rid of an ultranationalist leader like Putin? Maybe.

Frankly, I don’t see what NATO would gain by admitting Ukraine other than being dragged into a bunch of territorial squabbles… but I do see NATO’s position in stopping Putin’s land grab.

As to Zelensky and various Ukrainian leaders getting “theirs” with sticky fingers, why does that surprise anyone? Ukraine was historically one of the most corrupt nations. I think with the war, it’s gotten better, but hardly gone.

We should be policing our donations, but stopping a land grabbing neighbor was in our interest, and perfection is impossible in this situation.

Russians can stop the bloodshed any time they want to by agreeing to abide by the status quo ante borders, although I suspect the willingness of Ukraine to allow a Russian armed presence on the Black Sea in Crimea is done… but that’s between Russia and Ukraine, not NATO.
