Sounds just like what America has been doing for years. Bombing schools, hospitals homes and destroying villages. All in the cause of bringing them DEMOCRACY. Not much has change since the Pope declared the world is owned by Spain and Portugal, and gave them a free hand to convert everyone to Catholics or be killed!

Man, the Saudis are a pure nightmare of geopolitics. We need them as a counter and partner concerning Iran, maybe Russia in the Region, and Syria. The oil issue is always present for both of us. Ultimately, they need They know it. They need us to at least make sure no Islamic Nation State gets too big for their britches and tries to disrupt trade such as closing the Straights of Hormuz. However, from Taliban recruiting ground, butchering journalists, filtering w Russia, general Islamic Nation State civil liberties backwardness, now this to say the least, they do not make it easy. Trying to navigate Saudi Arabia issue is one pls e I do not think I have any better ideas. I would love to say to them, “Be Gone.” However, that is just not an option.

No worries there Scott. I asked Steve. Steve says America is doing splendidly. Gang is just another word for a group of children enjoying life together peddling drugs, raping, pilaging, and plundering…you know kids things in the 21st. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Like any good conservative these days I'm sure you are an originalist when it comes to interpreting our constitution. Could you point me to the section where the founders legitimize religion in Government at a State and local level but not Nationally? I may have missed that part.

Better yet…can you point to the part that forbids it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Lane Easter, DVM A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. In this case Congress is understood to be all forms of Government. Your local Town, village etc. can not impose limits on your first amendment rights. You have no right to impose your God on to me. https://www.uscourts.gov/educa...endment-and-religion

Read the link at the bottom. I do not think the founders intended for your local village to limit your Constitutional rights. How stupid do you they were? You, you State, your village etc. have zero right to limit my constitutional rights. We had a war over this, your side lost the war and court cases that followed.

Thank goodness your understanding of the law is flawed. The last thing we need is some backwater town establishing the local religion or limiting speech.

My understanding is spot on. The originalist interpretation (what you asked me for) clearly takes my side. I don’t for second believe that the Founders were stupid enough to explicitly use the word “Congress” to mean “all forms of government,” it would take a moron to make that stretch. I am fully aware that Liberal Courts, beginning in the 1970s, have made that stretch and it is rule we live by today. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. I don't believe any State Constitution guarantees any less than the Bill of Rights does, and some go further. Therefore, no, your village cannot pre-empt free speech or religious rights. You do realize that a significant chunk of Federal Court proceedings are solely concerned with various non-Federal entities attempting to limit Rights, and losing, don't you? You'll just have to establish your Christian Taliban somewhere else. Sorry. "If you’re innocent why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”- Donald Trump

The Constitution, as Originally Written, contains no language to support your case Steve…sorry. Liberal judges (no unanimous rulings…all narrow) “interpreted” it to fit their agenda. This is just a fact. In my opinion, their “interpretation” was a stretch. I am certain Thomas Jefferson knew exactly what meant using the word “Congress.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Wrong. The protections in the constitution apply to every person within the boundaries of the border of the US of A. Those of you wishing to subvert those rights are the ones with the agenda.

I don’t think anyone argues that point. The point is that the Constitution did not say what you imply. A few Justices gave it the power you prefer. Thomas Jefferson did not use the term Congress to imply all forms of government…simply a stretch. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. The Constitution has no language to support your positions, but about 75 years of caselaw was clear. We do not allow the State to mandate pray or give preference to a majority religion or minority religion. The Courts also do not address doctrine.
