Could it be that both foreign and domestic threats should be addressed?

Ignoring shit half a world away is how we ended up in WWII.

Ignoring the threat that is Putin and XI is not wise in my opinion.

Sure it could be, but we seem to put all our effort and attention into Ukraine and Somalia and Iraq while Haiti and Mexico fail.

In the 1980's we sang "We are the World!" for Ethiopia. We spent billions and killed hundreds of thousands in Iraq. What was our expenses for the Sudan war and famine?

I'll suggest again that America finds it much easier, much more sanitary to fret and fuss over topics on the other side of the globe rather than the disaster right out on our own front lawns.

I think it's despicable.

I think it is more complex than that. We are the largest, most prosperous economy on earth, that would not have have happened had it not been for some of our intervention abroad.

International diplomacy and military action is costly as well as messy but we also benefit from the upsides of our large foot print.

It has become increasingly less popular to invade neighboring countries in the name of offer stability....see Ukraine Big Grin
