JudgeG, The Pollyannas are silent… I wonder if they can even face stories like this. Stories that would destroy so many conspiracy theories that they have believed to be true. You know, conspiracy theories the democrats are up, such as “the Hunter Biden laptop is a Russian plant.” Fake news The dems who believed that garbage are just as embarrassingly foolish as the trumpers. Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure. -Jason Brown

I'll put this right next to Grassley's big revelation about the tapes that don't actually exist.

Thanks for the demonstration of confirmation bias there, Mr. Brown. The story has an obvious Republican slant, but that's not as important as whether the story is true. The article assumes it is, but blindly adopting this author's position would be allowing the media to tell us what to think. How credible are Shapely and the other unidentified whistleblower? Any other evidence to support their claims? Have their testimonies been subject to cross-examination? Presumably, they've filed some kind of lawsuit or administrative claim, so that is coming. The story is bad for Biden--IF TRUE. But so far the Republican record on Hunter and his laptop don't impress me with veracity. We will see if this story has legs...

Hummmmmm? Roland: Among other evidence are contemporaneous notes of the meeting(s). Maybe as many as six witnesses corroborating. Anyway…… Wymple: I thought the Gray Lady was the divinely inspired gospel of the woke crowd. If the NYT is now fake news to the Left, TDS victims and Democrats, do you feel just maybe they need to give back the Pulitzers for such (formerly) accurate reporting on Trump/Russian collusion. I've been doing fine I think, despite not knowing much about that newspaper for most of my life. But I'm not among the woke.

Total bullshit. The Times says nothing even close to the headline in the linked article cited in the OP unless you can't read and understand English. Nothing burger. All you need to know about it is already posted up by the guy promoting it: " maybe as many as six witnesses". Maybe an affidavit. Maybe this maybe that. But, right now? Nothing but made-up bullshit. Republicans have adopted the trump approach to facts and truth: make up your own. -Every damn thing is your own fault if you are any good.

There’s a syndrome prevalent among those stuck in believing a conclusion arrived at inductively. Here, “Biden isn’t a crook” is a fact to a religious fervor. The faithful think they are clever in dismissing each new discovery of circumstances that could (and here do) lead to a recognition that their thesis is incorrect. It’s a kind of logically (maybe self righteously) dismissing each new circumstance as not dispositive, but then not considering the cumulative probability that, sooner or later, all the weight of evidence makes the former thesis not sustainable…. And thereby taking multiple individual decisions (some maybe not even wrong) to sustain a false (and now) illogical conclusion. Not all feathered animals are ducks. Logical. Not all animals that waddle are ducks. Logical Not all animals that can make a quack are ducks. Logical. Not all animals that fly are ducks. Logical Not all animals that look like a duck are ducks (Merganser). Logical. You want to make your inductive thesis conclusive by dismissing any one the above decisions, never adding to the whole. But the damn thing you’re looking at is still a freakin’ duck. 20 shell companies. Firing of Burisma prosecutor. Multiple laptop references to the big Guy No skill on Hunters part Partner’s statements that Joe is dirty Whistleblower revelations AG’s refusal to investigate/prosecute 170 banking hits never investigated Messages demanding money or father (in room) will let loose the harpies from hell. Family members being used for laundering payments from China. Hunter on Air Force II and payments from China immediately follow . It goes on and on Using deductive reasoning, and understanding the cumulative effect of circumstantial evidence, in my humble opinion, shows that there is a big duck out there named Joe.
