Systems that utilize computers linked to the net…MUST have back up systems. It is not like we don’t know how. We managed the FAA just fine in the 1980s.

My businesses are now digitally based. We upload/download huge amounts of image data daily. This massive data transfer makes us a target for hackers.

Every year for the last 3 in the December-January time frame we have sustained cyber attacks. This year our protection held…but the bombardment got so heavy…we had to turn the transfer down to a trickle with heavy protection — seriously limits business.

We spend a lot per year on computer technology.

Glad I will be retiring (from management) soon. It is a nightmare.

No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

I went to buy a coffee machine.

The girl in the shop was trying to sell me a SMART COFFEE MACHINE.

I told her I didn’t want it.

She said but it was SMART!

Her jaw dropped when I said “compared to you it is smart! Not to me!”

I bought a cheap dumb one instead!

I dunno.

The system goes down in the middle of the night and is back up within 4-5 hours?

Yes, it’s vital and backups should be in place… but this seemed to work out fairly quickly.

Saeed--Here in San Angelo the water is such that coffee makers don't last long except Bunn's. They cost a little more but the best bargain in coffee makers.

Use a percolator. Hard water does not bother them.

A timer? Or maybe a wire basket? I miss the Corningware pot we used to have...

The one I was given a demo of removes the capsule as soon as the coffee is made, automatically.

The funny part was the company NESPRESSO had a very stupid attitude too.

They won't give me a discount, unless I give them an email and a phone number.

Then I get a 15% discount.

I told them my name is Mr Cash.

made up an email address, and gave them their own phone number, with a different code.

Got my discount. rotflmo

Saeed--I'm glad that a man such as yourself, living on a fixed income was able to get that badly needed 15% discount.
