My reading is that President Trump’s supporters do lot deny he took and had the records. They just do not care.

Yeah, I get it. But, this blows up the argument that he declassified everything so it was OK.

He should have been arrested & locked away years ago.

As far as I know, there hasn't been anything like this in history.

It's a saga unfolding ever so slowly.

Hopefully, the rule of law, although slow, will prevail.

This is agonizing, given the timelines, such as the eminent nominations and campaigns.

They say, more indictments will lead to more support for Trump. I suspect there's truth in that.

Can he be disqualified, by law?

The Constitution sets the rules on who can be President.

Ofc the top of my head, conviction is not disqualifying in the Constitution. Indictment is not a disqualification.

Now, kind of hard to serve if you are elected and sentenced to prison. Yes, President Trump will remain free for a good while while appeals are pending.

I would hope A) Voters would not vote for someone under indictment, or B) assuming President Trump is indicted or convicted but having won the Election I would expect Congress to unanimously Impeach and Convict on Impeachment speedily removing him from Office.

There is nothing more frustrating than Hope.

It took only a few days to find and jail Teixeira, and with tons of evidence trump still walks free. So much for justice.

This take recording causes President Trump 2 fact issues:

1) The recording demonstrates intent to take and keep confidential documents;
And
2( His is admitting he did not have the ability after leaving office to declassify these documents which opens him to invent again.

The recording establishes both possession and intent to possess and keep.

One thing always missed by everyone is the president of the United States does not have the authority to classify or declassify anything in office or out. He is bound by law to handle classified material in a certain way and can be prosecuted if he doesn’t. In his especially blatant case this is what needs to happen.
