Joe looked old and infirm but actually did remarkably well, until fatigue started to show about fifteen minutes in. I was nervous, waiting for the major gaffe, but he kept it to minor speech problems and mostly stayed on point.
The GOP response was so bad it was unwatchable; I lasted less than a minute.
I was surprised to see Joe even mention inflation numbers. With real inflation at 25%+ over three years, I'd have just kept quiet on that.
In the end, he didn't embarrass the nation, so there is that.
This is more than be said of the response, which was an embarrassment to the Republican party, at least. I would like to know what brain trust decided that cow should deliver the response.
In the end, it was just the typical, partisan, smoke and mirrors and make believe. That's all we get anymore. The real state of the union? On the brink. Regards, Bill
