I have said several times on this forum that I think that Putin's hopes via Trump is actually prolonging the war with Ukraine, costing many lives. I don't know for sure if what Woodward claims is true, but two things lean towards it being true. One, Bob Woodward is credible. Two, it's the sort of thing that Trump would do and both he and Putin lie about. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news...3ef6c0ae23c45&ei=102 JD Vance Scorched For ‘Grotesque’ Defense Of Trump’s Reported Chats With Putin Story by Josephine Harvey • 48m • 2 min read Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) offered a stunning reaction on Tuesday to new reporting that Donald Trump maintained a relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin after departing the White House. At a campaign stop in Detroit, a reporter asked the GOP’s vice presidential nominee about Bob Woodward’s reporting in his new book that Trump has had as many as seven calls with the authoritarian leader since he left office. Vance initially responded by deflecting, saying, “I honestly didn’t know that Bob Woodward was still alive until you just asked me that question,” and calling the legendary journalist a “hack.” Then, he added: “Even if it’s true, look, is there something wrong with speaking to world leaders? No. Is there anything wrong with engaging in diplomacy?” As commentators pointed out on social media, yes, there is, actually. Under the Logan Act, a federal law, private citizens may not engage in unauthorized diplomacy with foreign governments. “What a grotesque defense. Actually, a former president secretly speaking to a war criminal, an adversary of the US, leader of a terrorist state, is wildly wrong,” one critic noted on X, formerly Twitter, of Vance’s remarks. “They swiftly moved from the ‘it didn’t happen’ phase to the ‘even if it’s true’ phase,” wrote another on X. See those reactions and others below. (see the article link for the reactions) ============================================= https://www.msn.com/en-us/news...ef797d&ei=55#details Lawrence: Bob Woodward calls Trump 'worse than Nixon' in damning October surprise report Using The Washington Post’s reporting on Bob Woodward’s new book, “War,” MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell explains why the revelations about Donald Trump and his relationship with Vladimir Putin would have ended any presidential campaign prior to the Trump era. Interestingly, Lawrence uses the hostage crisis that Jimmy Carter failed to resolve, the origin of the term October Surprise, as an example to measure this Surprise by. But he failed to mention that over time there is credible evidence that Reagan, his team, arranged for Carter to fail and Reagan get the credit and win the election. After all, the hostages were released the day of Reagan's inauguration. Does anyone think for a second that was coincidence? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...ober_Surprise_theory ============================================= https://www.msn.com/en-us/news...uAK?ocid=socialshare 5 key revelations from Bob Woodward’s new book Story by Isaac Stanley-Becker • 18h • 5 min read ========================================== https://www.msn.com/en-us/news...vQA?ocid=socialshare Three Big Claims About Donald Trump in Bob Woodward's Book 'War' Story by Billal Rahman • 4h • 3 min read ************* Degenerate 1:1 1 Then Trump said, "Let Us re-make a Nation in MY Image, after My likeness, to rule over everything in the Nation, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it". To get re-elected Trump would seek assistance from anywhere and anyone, and of course as a "businessman" he would rely on the Art of the Deal; quid pro quo. If you help me, how can I help you? I'm sure the implication of these calls to Putin cause none of our MAGAts any concern. They live in the MAGA world of See No Evil, Hear No Evil when it comes to Trump. https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-55524676 The good news for most MAGA Morons is that every one of them live in a bubble of equally ignorant people, so they don't have to feel embarrassed. When they get out of that bubble and talk to patriotic Americans with high moral values, then they get loud and defensive, which is another way of saying, "I'm embarrassed".

No clue who Bob Edwards is…and I’ll wager 95% of the country doesn’t either. If you want to win, have better policies. Trump is the boogeyman is not a winning strategy, and frankly boring.

It's Woodward, sound the letters out and you can hear the difference, and a great many Americans know that he was half of the Washington Post team that exposed Nixon. And the Kremlin just confirmed Woodward's reporting on Trump furnishing Putin with COVID tests when Americans couldn't get them. Make Russia Great Again. I understand the entire concept is alien to you but a great number of people actually read and study something called "American History" to inform themselves about what happened before they were adults, or even before they were born. Woodard. You have to be politically ignorant to not know who he is. I suppose you don't know who Nixon was, either.

I remember Nixon. He was the president who won by such a landslide that it really pissed off the liberals in the media. Ultimately, he was hounded out of office and resigned. In the same situation, Trump would not resign. He would cheerfully throw his people under the bus and stay right where he was. There was no reason for anyone to break into the Democrat campaign office. The Democrat nominee had no chance anyway. Nixon should have axed those responsible. If he knew about it ahead of time, he deserved to get run out because it was stupid. The country does not need stupid in the Whitehouse. Bill Clinton was stupid. George H.W. Bush was stupid. Donald Trump was absolutely stupid. There is no question regarding Joe Biden, and the next president is guaranteed to be stupid. A pattern is developing here. Trump should not have been chosen as the Republican candidate. Kamala should not have been selected as the democrat. Still, that is what we have. It is evident that, once again, the media is determined to prop up the Democrat and denigrate the Republican. The thing is, Trump makes it too easy by doing stupid stuff, then lying about it. J.D. Vance is hurting his own credibility by ignoring it. Bill

I haven't seen a "nice" rant like that for a while.
You're right. GOPers nowadays wouldn't impeach him either. He would claim immunity, and pay millions of TP money to lawyers to drag it out forever. The spin/lies would be even more incredible than they are now. He probably would gain even more supporters. As I think about the probabilities, Trump will likely create multiple situations such as the Watergate drama specifically to crush the rule of law. Already, nothing he says can be trusted to resemble truth. If it's possible, that would get worse. Practically nothing said in his support or affirmations can be trusted either. Think about that - I doubt that there has ever been a POTUS or candidate so untrustworthy (corrupt) as Trump, and the GOPers who support him. Given the power of office, we and history would never sort out the multitude of transgressions Trump(ism) would render. The media has lots of fodder now, but only about half the population is listening. ************* Degenerate 1:1 1 Then Trump said, "Let Us re-make a Nation in MY Image, after My likeness, to rule over everything in the Nation, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it".
