Senate President Stivers just called Kimber’s Law for a Vote on Senate Floor.

It Passed 34-4.

I am going to be on the road on the way home now.

Been on the phone with major donors from both Parties, every School Board Member, and in Stivers District (my District).

I am going to mail a copy of it to a Defendant’s attorney in the morning.

The glory goes to my State Representative Nick Wilson.

He sponsored the bill.

I just called people.

Pardon my pessimism, but how did you or those retards get to a place where a murderer would be paroled in 20 years in the first place?

In this day and age, needing a new law to keep animals that kill kids behind bars defies belief.

As Saeed says, " the mind boggles".

Now that the law is passed, the headline should read, " Hey, we don't look like quite as big a idiots as we did yesterday!".

Well done.

and Scott, for goodness sake knock that chip off your shoulder, its unbecoming.

I'm saying that as if you were a friend.

I mean good grief, can't we take a moment to rejoice in an example of both sides
putting in the work to reach common ground?

The minimum to parole fir 1st Degree is 25.

Your state will have a similar statute.

Because of the Fed Supreme Court cases I posted in the other thread in part.

No one qualifies for death just for killing a person anymore.

It had not been that was since 1976.

https://law.justia.com/codes/a...5/section-12.55.125/

Your statute is not hardly any better. See above.
Alaska BANNED the Death Penalty by act in the 1950s. I do not know if it was ever reinstated.

I can confirm AK does not have the death penalty.

A person could serve as little as 30 years for killing child in AK per statute posted above.

So, why is AK behind KY on this issue.

I will send you our statutes if you want to try and over haul.

It just takes 1 member of the legislature proposing it. The hard part is getting assigned to committee. Then it only gets harder.

I have no chip.
That Alaska or Kentucky or Mars can let the convicted murderer of a kid on parole free after 20 years is stupid beyond belief.
That Kentucky gathered the sense to correct that stupidity is hardly a celebration.

I find it hard to congratulate somebody for them stopping beating themselves over the head with a hammer.

AK does not have the death penalty at all.

Sounds like you think there Out to be a law.
