Looking good. And Trump didn't even have to invade. Cool

Why no negativity? Trump may have secured control of the canal, without “invading” anyone?

“The art of the deal”

Regardless of how anyone feels about Trump, you simply cannot overestimate the strategic importance of the Panama Canal.

Once again, you're looking through that lens of yours.

I only read the second link. It says Panama is ending its agreement regarding the canal with China--a good thing, I'll grant you.

The article doesn't say that the US will take control of the canal. Instead, Panama's president assurred Rubio that Panama will continue to control the canal.

You're not wrong. I see it as a victory. China controlling that canal is a huge strategic problem.

Try to look at the reason first, then you might understand that Greenland is absolutely the key to defending the northern waterways, to include your country.

Trump doesn't want Greenland, he wants to establish a deterrent to the north that currently doesn't exist.

sure trump does not want greenland thus the reason he stated the opposite of what you wrote ... you will say as well he did not want canada to be the 51st state lol ... i do understand the rational of defending greenland and the access including a stronger presence of nato on the northern borders but not a claim from your president ... btw it looks like the speeches of hitler to the natural expansion without the populations ... you want the land of greenland and canada for the land and all the ressources but not the people ...

Exactly. Same thing happened in the 1930’s with France and England and their promises to Poland and Czechoslovakia. Anyone who thinks that Trump’s signature on anything or his promise is worth spit is an idiot.

The United States should be secure in its hemisphere. The borders with Mexico and Canada should not be a threat and both countries on both sides of the border should guarantee it.

Canada is our good friend and should conduct itself accordingly
Mexico the same. United States problems in the name or sake of brotherhood are also Mexican and Canadian problems and visversa.

Threats in our hemisphere like Haiti should be pacified since they have demonstrated the inability to civilize themselves.

Cuba is civilized and no threat to the United States regardless their differing politics. Cuba and others like it should be welcomed and groomed as partners and affiliates as is China.

Imperialism is good, very good! Assuming one knows their limitations and boundaries.

sorry that you feel our borders are a threat to your country ... let imagine a canadian politican saying tomorrow enough of the drugs and firearms smuggled to our country or even the money shipped back from your state to go back to usa via the yukon and bc ..thinking as well that a lot of illegal immigrants are going south from our country ...

but it was a very good learning time to finally find out that usa is not our friend and i will say thank you trump for this. it will be a long time before i will spend a dime on us soil or us product ...

Unfortunately my friends in Vermont have said the border crossings with criminal illegals AND drugs has been bad there for a long time. I reckon other border states may see similar.

Why is that Canada's problem? Why isn't the US securing its own border?

Borders belong to TWO countries..... Just like fences.....

If my cows keep going through my bad fences to eat my neighbor's garden....well...that makes me a bad neighbor.

Pretty simple?
05 February 2025, 05:37
RolandtheHeadless
Yes, it's simple. Secure our own border first, then we can complain about what Canada is doing.

The US/Canada border is the longest unsecured border in the world. Canada is or was a peaceful friend of the US. Do you expect armies lined up on both sides?

How do they ( illegals) get in Canada and Mexico in the first place?
You see, it’s not just border issue on border, it’s an issue how they let them in in their respective countries first

that is the first question, the second will be how many illegals are we talking about? like the fentanyl exported to usa that counts for .02% of the seized one. how many are seized by mexican and us customs?

but trying to divert your own issues by blaming others never worked ... as you have seen it is not because you claim i will use tariffs and you will have no choice ... interesting that a capitalist like trump never thought that wall street will have a say ...

Sorry you feel that way. I think the US has a lot to offer you.

I believe most of us here love Canada. Beautiful nation, full of rich resources and what a friendly bunch of citizens.i intend to go there and tour around every opportunity I get.

It's unfortunate that it took a character like Trump to get serious about our borders and it should have been done decades ago, but nobody would so here we are. I am my fellow Americans shouldn't have to be advocating for military strikes against the Drug Cartels operating in Latin America, the Latin Americans should be advocating military strikes against the Drug Cartels operating in their homeland.

It looks to me like both sides of our borders are getting some serious scrutiny post 1/20/25 and I'm happy.

I wish you were too and I hope to see you here soon. Big Grin

I've never voted for Trump once, am happy I didn't and wouldn't in the future.

I doubt he's serious about annexing Canada and I think it's in bad form he says things that he doesn't mean and aren't truthful.

If by coincidence or happenstance or sheer luck Trump corrects our border failure I'll be very happy.

he only wants the western half of the country.
nobody wants to deal with French Canadians, not even the French.... LOL

look.
all he is doing is putting pressure on your umm people in charge to stop your country from allowing retards to fly into your country and then come into ours.
how he goes about that is to shoot high and negotiate down to 65%.

They "folded" by giving Trump exactly what they had agreed to in negotiations with Biden, except Mexico went from 15,000 troops to 10,000 and got Trump to commit to doing something about the guns-to-Mexico pipeline.
