Big Grin You're incorrigible Saeed, hahahahaa

Harmeet Dhillon resembles your remark, not in the bimbo sense, but in checking all the boxes.

Unfortunately for her, the RNC chose to re-elect a white 3 time loser to their chairmanship and look where they are.
Is anybody really suprised?

I do, I just think its hard for a down to earth person to get elected. John Mcain would have made a better president arguably, than Obama.

Jeb Bush would have been far better than Trump.

Kasic as well.

All this is of course looking from the outside as a citizen of the rest of the world who is effected by American politics. And make no mistake, American politics Effect us more than any other nations on earth. Even Chinas.

So from the outside Haley seems like a good option, which is probably a kiss of death.

Lots of complaints that the system throws up a choice between a complete moron and a guy who can’t stay awake, yet the alternative choice is there , at least as an alternative to the moron. But the GOP electorate don’t/ won’t take it.

“The government you elect is the government you deserve” as a wise man once said ( Jefferson for those of you who are of the R persuasion and evidently need all the help you can get).

Money.

Since Citizens United the best way to scam a few bucks from a billionaire is not a fake oil well or the "next big internet thing", it's a political campaign that promises them the influence they think they deserve.

The 2000 John McCain, ( specifically,) would have been a better president than "W", Obama, Trump or Biden. Taken back in the time machine, McCain would have been better than Clinton, Bush sr and Carter.

As to American politics effecting New Zealand, you need to work on that, personally or nationally, your choice. I live about as far away from America as you do, and from where I sit it looks like America is crumbling. American politics are going to be less helpful going forward. Think independence friend, economic, energy, defense, natural resource, food, independence.

I like Haley just fine and would be happy to vote for her in almost every case, I'll have to get back to you to tell you who's better. But I'm telling you, I think this next election and maybe a couple after that, we're,( the USA,) is gonna elect a poor choice.

Detach yourself now friend, the ride is gonna get a bit more bumpy.

I dont know that we have a choice. If America sneezes, the rest of us get a cold. And given our location, the alternative is be effected by China. Which to be fair looks like it might be an even bumpier ride.
We have been trying for some years to insulate ourselves by seeking diverse free trade deals etc, but big economies such as the states, china and that sorry excuse for a federation, the EU, just have such an effect on us in whatever they do.

But America has not been a good leader.

Rampant corruption within its own government, and at the same time they pretend to be as pure as the driven snow!

All the GOP candidates have the same situation. I just wish she or any one of them would say out loud what's in store for them and the rest of us should the GOP gain the power to do their vile deeds on the country.

Romney was good too. McCain was good but did indeed have bimbo baggage.

We really couldn't have predicted the political future then. Little did we know how good those candidates really were (John McCain, Romney, John Kasich, Jeb Bush) in comparison to what we reaped. So, it suggests what? Maybe it's useless to predict?

Any Republican running for office better have that dog in them. Liberal media leaves no room for “down to earth”. You will be attacked. You will be smeared, slandered, and reputation utterly destroyed if you don’t bite back. Nice guys finish last has never been more apropos. Both sides are guilty, the difference is Liberals are firmly in control of main stream. Does anyone here expect civilized discourse concerning this election? Or how Desantis grabbed a girls ass in college? Or Haley has a lesbian piss fetish? Or Ramaswami’s real name is Carl Ferguson? Or Hunter’s dog snorts heroin? This election will be a shit show.

I'm sure Nikki Haley has as much in common with the average voter as anyone else on the stage, but none of them are likely to be the next president. Donald Trump will totally trash the Republican party, because his ego demands it. He and his followers will ensure that no candidate is viable. He may already have divided the party enough that they can't win unless...
On the other hand, the Democrats cannot run Biden/Harris again; not if they want to win.
There has been some talk of drafting Michelle Obama, who would probably win easily. Good for the Democrats, but horribly divisive for the country. The democrats need to abandon their full on woke socialist agenda and run on a more moderate platform (for the good of the nation). They need to run candidates without a ton of baggage. They have the great advantage of not having a wrecking ball like Trump doing them damage, but I think they will do it to themselves. On the whole, I count myself as very pessimistic about 2024. That wild card is being played well, by the Dems and "their" media, and Trump is giving plenty of evidence.

After all, MAGAggots and far right GOPers are viewed by RINOs and liberals as "Tear it all down" ideological sap-sucking guppies.

I think the 2024 election is pretty easy to call. If the GOP runs Trump and Biden is the opponent, the same thing that happened in 2020 will repeat itself and the GOP will have run the only opponent that Biden can beat. If the GOP runs a candidate other than Trump and Biden is the opponent, hard to imagine how Biden would win. If the GOP runs Trump and Biden is not the opponent, the GOP will be beat like a drum. If the GOP runs a candidate other than Trump and Biden is not the opponent, we could have a real election contest. Not really all that hard to predict . . . unless you are a MAGAggot.

This hits the nail on the head. As long as the GOP supports Trump then the Democrats are going to win. If the GOP would put up any viable candidate other than Trump they would win. This election is all in the hands of the GOP to win or to lose!

New York Times correspondent and CNN analyst Maggie Haberman and her reporting team warned Republicans that former President Donald Trump could have the nomination sewn up before the GOP “knows if he’s a felon.”

“Trump Could Clinch the Nomination Before the G.O.P. Knows if He’s a Felon,” the scribes point out that Trump’s trial calendar won’t allow the party much in the way of options if Trump is found guilty of multiple felonies:

By the time Donald J. Trump is sitting at his federal trial on charges of criminally conspiring to overturn the 2020 election, he may have already secured enough delegates to effectively clinch the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination.

The former president’s trial is scheduled to start March 4, by which point five states are expected to have held nominating contests. The next day, March 5, is Super Tuesday, when 15 states, including delegate-rich California and Texas, plan to hold votes that will determine if any Trump challenger has enough political oxygen to remain a viable alternative.

Here's something almost amusing. Roll Eyes

I was gonna say that Republicans got themselves in this mess, and dragged the rest of us off the deep end with them.

But this article says it better. Smiler

Ex-Moonie hired to 'de-program' Jan. 6 defendants of their devotion to Trump: report
Opinion by Travis Gettys

3h

The former president's lawsuit against CNN was eventually thrown out of court, but cult expert and former "Moonie" Diane Benscoter says she's finding it difficult to persuade the Trump supporters from modulating their courtroom behavior – let alone recant their devotion, reported The Atlantic.

"It’s so difficult, in fact, that she sees greater hope in attacking the demand side of cultism, calling for government programs that would treat disinformation and indoctrination as a kind of public-health emergency — a Sanitary Commission of the Mind," wrote Peter Sagal for the publication.

"If enough people can be taught how indoctrination works, she thinks, they will be able to see it coming for them before it’s too late. Set aside the legal and ethical questions about assigning the government that sort of expansive role; what if it’s already too late? Educating people so they won’t join a political cult, in 2023, is like closing the barn door after the horse has attacked the West Portico of the Capitol with bear spray."

Daniella Mestyanek Young, who has a master’s in group psychology from Harvard’s Extension School and shares her childhood experience with the Children of God cult in a series of TikTok videos, doesn't believe anyone can be talked out of Trumpism, but she's seen many self-rescues.

"The way that cults die without a final, Jonestown-like conflagration is when they can’t recruit the next generation, and we are seeing this in the alt-right. We’re going to see young children of MAGA Republicans voting for the left.”

Younger people largely reject Trump's brand of conservatism, Young said.

"They’re not going to vote for the people who made them do live-shooter drills in schools and at the same time loosened the gun laws," she said, adding that their views extend to conservative Christianity, in general. "[They say things like] 'Screw you – you told me all my friends are going to hell. I’m going to hell with them.'"

She has seen evidence that many Trump followers simply fall away from the cult and get back into whatever interested them before he entered politics, although they're embarrassed to admit they'd been conned, and she doesn't think the cult will endure without its figurehead.

"Young believes that the only thing that will truly end Trumpism is what ends everything, eventually: the icy hand of death," Sagal wrote. "Not necessarily the departure of Trump himself; she believes that if and when he leaves the scene, via jail or one too many Big Macs, various pretenders will rise up to claim his mantle and authority, just as the Unification Church splintered into various factions after the death of Reverend Moon. No, what she means is that the members of the cult itself will die out, and there will be no one, eventually, to replace them."

This is one of their greatest fears:

"The way that cults die without a final, Jonestown-like conflagration is when they can’t recruit the next generation, and we are seeing this in the alt-right. We’re going to see young children of MAGA Republicans voting for the left.”

It's why they put so much emphasis on "woke" and the "liberal colleges" and the "Liberal media" and want to appropriate public school money for private schools, through the "parents rights" and the Moms for Liberty movements. It's why they loathe schools teaching critical thinking skills. The claim that the left indoctrinates is really a psychological projection.

Real conservatives aren't radicalized. Thus "radicalized conservative" is an oxymoron. Yet there are many radicalized republicans.
