Neither are true and doing so only demonstrates lack of acuity or the incapacity to comprehend (willfully or unwittingly) the vision of half of America for America.

What if such label, fascist, comes from the capacity and acuity to comprehend?

And why would a label be the cause in the effect of division?

If that were logical, then labeling liberals as the enemy within would have the same effect.

No, really you're just saying fall in line you leftists vermin, or suffer the price. Even in line, you're still the enemy within, and always will be to our tribe.

This is really a righteous version of "Look at what you made me do. Don't make me hurt you some more."

In other words..Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated…

Well, fuck your Fascist vision. Go shine your jackboots and practice your stiff arm salute while others figure out a way to remain free.

Submitting to Trumps New World Order doesn’t appeal to everyone. He IS a Fascist, and you ARE in a cult, and denying it changes nothing. Your thinking echoes the rationale behind yesteryears SS and Gestapo.

Well said.

Trump is not my president. I'll resist Trump, Trumpism, and his cult followers to my last breath.

On the bright side, at least we'll have no shortage of material to post about.

I agree that the use of loaded political rhetoric needs to end.

I hope the democrats shift to being the loyal opposition. Describe where they think the president is wrong and offer alternatives.

Stop attempting to govern via the courts.

Make realistic comments about the need to debate policy.

But yeah, I’m dreaming.

BTW, Roland, he is your president, just like Biden was. I don’t expect anyone to kowtow to him, but we have seen that incivility has just made things worse.

As they said in the Army, you salute the uniform (in his case, the office) not the individual.

Trump is president. The majority has spoken. Let’s try and make it work… on both sides.

You can call someone judge or you can call someone your honor.

Want to insult a judge free of direct ramifications, call that person judge.

I respect the results of this election. I do not respect President Elect Trumps

I remember a scene from Kingdom of Heaven.

Tiberius after unsuccessfully trying to stop his political opponent (and bad choice) from becoming King, attends the coronation (in real life I think Raymond refused to attend). Tiberius is last to join the chant with only one low, when the chant brings him out of thought at what he sees., “ Long live the King.”

Long Live President Elect Trump and his GOP.

It’s ultra liberal Soros democrats like you Enigma, MJines, that are so far from center of the Democratic Party that you don’t belong in the USA.You have your heads so far up your woke agenda asses you admit you don’t hold up the support of the US constitution. Why do you stay in America? You support unvetted open borders allowing in 21 million unvetted illegal aliens , then you give them hundreds of millions of taxpayers dollars . You spend one trillion dollars on the green new deal. How did that work out? You want males in woman’s sports. Really? You want unstable transgenders in our daughters restrooms and locker rooms , showers in their schools. You want unstable transgenders in positions of security in our military, Pentagon and state department. You don’t want to arrest criminals who are stealing from our businesses . You want to eliminate free speech and weaponize the justice department. You are against the second amendment. You don’t want to support our elected president. Go fuck yourselves and find another country you woke commie.

Those folks are citizens and belong in the U.S. as much as anyone.

I resists calling Trump fascist bc I do not believe Trump has an overall philosophy beyond himself. I have been tempted.

Fascism requires unilateral control of government where the leader of the party subjugates law, economy, and culture to the state. The state replaces the individual.

Private enterprise can exist only at the direction of this state.

Fascism is not on its face is not racism. Mussolini’s party had Jews. Italy was not engulfed in ethnicity as policy.

Nazism introduced the ethnic hate, the purification of the nation for those deemed correct.

In the interest of reconciliation, I am not going to respond directly to this.

I would just say go look at who called for the Constitution to be suspended if we still want to talk about who rejected the Constitution.

"It is a fact that liberalism is the enemy of America"

That about sums it up for your POV.

So, I can infer that you think illiberalism (or anti-liberalism) is what America is about, presently and historically.
I don't want to waste time with the study or rehash of history with you. But "liberalism" is fundamental within the Founding principles.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...tes#Early_liberalism

Sure, it has "evolved" but so has conservativism. But I think the liberalism of yesteryear hasn't morphed into a monster, and conservativism has so morphed.

I disagree somewhat with LHeym in his views on fascism, and definitions. There are far more similarities with so-deemed fascism compared with Trumpism than significant differences.

And as you once said, "I don't give a rat's ass" if the label fascist offends. If the shoe fits. I don't mean to use that word alone pejoratively. I use it descriptively based on evidence observed.

Now, here's an example of both pejoratively and descriptively:

Again based on evidence, specifically Trump's behavior at a recent rally, on camera, in front of the world and fake news, he made the gestures of giving a blow job using the microphone as a prop.

So now I can refer to Trump as a fascist cock sucker with some degree of accuracy, based on evidence. Roll Eyes

Totally certifiably nuts! That’s not evolution. Things evolve to the better.

That^^^makes you a nut…plain and simple…no way around it. There is zero about Trump or his followers, other than nationalism, that is even remotely similar to fascism.

I've never called Trump a fascist. For one thing, he's not smart or competent enough to be effective at fascism. Not that he doesn't have it in his heart to try. I guess we'll find out if he's learned enough from his buddies Putin and Kim to do better with his second chance.

His hardcore followers so precisely resemble cult members that anyone could be forgiven for confusing them as such. I will continue to call them what they are.

He also has a lot of supporters who don't qualify for the cult--because in their hearts, they despise him--but were still misguided enough to vote for him anyway.

"See? I told you!" -- I expect to be saying that a lot over the next four years.

Evolve
vs
Devolve (as in deteriorate, degenerate, fall apart)

So, I used the wrong word. But you understood what I meant anyway.

And the election results do not vindicate you or prove your points, which are that Trumpism is wholesome and good for the Nation.

He/it is or isn't based on outcomes and a lot on what he says and does, and support thereof.

We're not going to agree on the fascist label.

"Not educatable"? Let's pause and have a moment of "wow" to give self-reflection some room.

So, I used the wrong word. But you understood what I meant anyway.

And the election results do not vindicate you or prove your points, which are that Trumpism is wholesome and good for the Nation.

It damn sure proves one thing. More people agree with me than you. Wink

He/it is or isn't based on outcomes and a lot on what he says and does, and support thereof.

WE're not going to agree on the fascist label.

Because you are a nut. It is really not even debatable among the sane.

You are making a big assumption, which is "Trumpism is wholesome and good" and that's the reason he won. I think there's a lot more to it, and besides, who would figure that Trumpism's neo-American version of fascism is wholesome and good?

I do believe that. Just not arguing the election numbers prove that per se — just that the majority agree with my selection.

Keven Roberts and all the co-authors of Project 2025 and Heritage Foundation agree with you, in every way.

Oh well, you (plural) won. The path is cleared of the liberal debris. Have at it.

I can't stop you, but I'm damned sure not going to agree with you.

I would still enjoy an outing with you on a desolate stretch of river, a flat-bottom boat, some lines, and a live-well full of small bluegill. Smiler

"I am for unity in our country" (quote from another thread which I don't want to participate in.)

This unity thing has different meanings depending on POV. It could be unity through force or threatened force. You know darn well how an authoritarian regime would define unity. The best they could hope for from me is STFU, silence like what's appropriate at Thanksgiving table with relatives or dignified company.

I will understand that quote from you as sincere and legitimate.

I think I could do that and be okay with it. Actually, I have a far right friend who lives and works in Alaska spring, summer and fall - winters in Georgia nearby.

We plan to fish together soon, which reminds me that I need to call him.

Also, I have friends in Texas who range from far right to not-so-far right. I'm planning a trip to visit them for some after deer season hog hunting and catfishing. Most years two of them come here to GA for deer hunting a few days. I set them up with stands, place to hookup their camper or bedroom, etc.
