Things are going to get worse before they get better. The trump cancer has to be excised before the GOP can start to get back on track.

I see McCarthy is now on board with impeaching Biden even though there is not one lick of evidence he did anything wrong. Direct result of McCarthy doing the bidding of trump and the rest of the extreme nuts who apparently run the GOP these days.

How can one even consider impeachment for things that happened before an individual was in office? I know it's only "inquiry" which allows more investigative power, but still others like Marjorie "BIMBO" Greene have talked about introducing articles of impeachment.

It's just an effort to divert attention from trump's existing and pending criminal problems. There is zero evidence in relation to President Biden. Just trying to tar and feather him with his incredible fuck-up of a son.

Even if it was successful in the House, it never passes in the Senate.

Yeah, that makes too much sense for republicans. They win hands down in an election with Biden and Harris. But, got to go with trump. Confused

Very hard to understand until you remember it's a cult at this point.

I doubt they have a lock. The folks on the left are saying how great that pair would be… until they ARE the nominees, then it will be full on attack.

While I find them certainly more palatable than Trump or Biden/Harris, I am not the person who you have to convince.

I kind of doubt any of the above posters would vote for them- in the general.

If the ticket in the primary is either of them, and Trump; I will vote for them, but I don’t buy that they are shoo ins for president. For one thing, the Dems will dump Biden as soon as it’s anyone but Trump. They may dump him anyhow as he’s not a good candidate, despite being the incumbent.

Dump him for who? Dump the incumbent POTUS?

That would never happen. Biden will be the candidate unless he strokes out. Shit, maybe even then.

Dunno.

But I bet if Michelle Obama even suggested she would accept, Biden’s butt would be bouncing on the ground.

Would not be the first time.
Dennis Hof won his last election post-humously (...as a Republican - he lost the election before that as a Libertarian...).

I cannot think of a setting President that has lost nomination for the next term.

President Theadore Roosevelt was begged and promoted to be the next R nominee of he would not run against Taft. President TR even had to run as a 3rd Party.

Apparently there were more than a few back when- Tyler (lost Whig nomination to Henry Clay in 1844)

Filmore lost to Winfield Scott in 1852. (whig)

Andrew Johnson lost to Horatio Seymour in 1868. (democrat)

Arthur lost to Blaine in 1884. (GOP)

All of the above were sitting presidents through succession who didn't get nominated by the party they were running for.

Pierce was elected in 1852, and lost the democrat nomination in 1856. He was the only elected one to do so.

Didn't LBJ refuse to run due to knowing he would lose?

Its not that incredibly rare... although it hasn't happened much recently.

LBJ withdrew after RK got in.

Funny all those on the Right that hate LBJ he did sign a big Tax Cut in 1964.

Still, he did not loose as setting President. I believe he thought he would, or he would have stayed in. The Tet Offensive was the hey RK used to get in on.

Henry Clay lost that election. The poor guy was nominated what 4x and never won.

Exactly!

Tells you intelligence and responsibility does not factor in American elections.

Gender and color are more important!
