TRUMP TARGETS MUSK: The president in an overnight social media post suggested that the Department of Government Efficiency, which his former adviser Elon Musk led, "take a good, hard" look at subsidies to the Tesla CEO’s companies.

Trump renewed his threat to go after Musk's businesses after the tech billionaire amped up his calls Monday for a new political party as he lodged sharp criticism against Trump’s megabill.

The tech billionaire, whose close relationship with Trump quickly devolved into a public clash last month, has blasted the bill as “utterly insane” and “political suicide” for the GOP. Amid his tiff with Trump, Musk floated the idea of “The America Party” to “represent the 80% in the middle.”

“Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame,” he wrote on X. “And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.”

The post was viewed 26 million times on the social media platform.

We're about to find out if Elon Musk is a man of his word.

We already know that Trump isn't as well as most GOPers in congress.

There is a BIG question hanging regarding Musk's true character.

It's tempting to project "normal" upon him. But what's normal? It ain't him.

Is he a man of principles, as defined by morals, ethics, virtues, or just a flip-side of Trump where principles are defined otherwise?

This is interesting, perhaps predictable in the circumstance.

We shall see.

One thing for sure - Trump needs and feeds off opposition and so-deemed enemies. Musk MAY qualify. I doubt that Trump will go TACO on Musk. I expect full-on hammer and malfeasance.

WE could go from one narcissistic crazy asshole to another. Wonderful.

And I doubt that he wants an elected office at all. I think he's a different kind of narcissist.

What has it come to when political office is being used to settle personal scores. Ok bush did it with Saddam, but now it appears to be anyone who might disagree with Trump. What’s next, an IRS audit for the guy that gave him a parking ticket two years ago?

He seems incapable of rising above any slight or disagreement.

It's not just "appears". It is.

It's not just that he's incapable.

Instead it's that he thrives on it.

Trump is at a whole different level that "we" can't fathom. When we quit projecting our own values, morals, ethics upon him and take him at face value, then we may get it.
