I would not arm teachers. We had a state school mass killing. After LE breached and neutralized, a school employee illegally armed, came around the corner pointing a handgun at search and kill law enforcement. That is not good. I also have no good idea to prevent that scenario. I’ve tried. The best I can come up w is allowing teacher carry who pass the state police firearms qualification exam both classroom and live fire. Such a law would be state level, and require the jurisdiction’s state police to provide that training. Again, I ultimately come down on no, because I do not think that prevents good guys who are engaged across coordination from shooting one another when a search and kill is on.

Put the officers at the campuses. Quick professional response which may act as a deterrent. Of course, the Fed legislation I have outlined would provide front screws metal detectors.

I do think school districts are learning. School districts in my two counties have created their own district wide police forces. The college here entered into a services contract with the city police department.

and, let's be honest, in terms of medical advice, i'd choose a vet over a lawyer -- even if they were the best lawyer on the planet (caveat - assuming not also a Dr of some sort of medicine)

Whether transgender was a source of the shooter's problems or not, there were undiagnosed and untreated problems. This shooting was not healthy behavior.
