Florida is behind the times. The GOP did this years ago in Texas. Requiring employers to provide things like water and the time to drink it to their employees who work outside in 100 degree temperatures is un-American. -Every damn thing is your own fault if you are any good.

Excellent question. Republican pushback against government regulation. The usual. -Every damn thing is your own fault if you are any good.

Why in Sam Hill would we need laws telling employees it is OK to get a drink when you need one or to sit down it the shade a moment if your hot? Slavery ended in 1865. Need a drink? Get one. If you’re over-heated…sit in the shade a few minutes and drink water. If you’re not cut out to work outside…get an inside job. Don’t like your job or your boss…QUIT. On the other side employers don’t want there employees collapsing on the job. Even if they don’t care about the person…it disrupts the work flow. Employers know that healthy happy employees are productive employees. The last thing this country needs is more regulations. Passing a law is not the solution to all problems…even if this is a problem…which I doubt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Lane Easter, DVM A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. I wish everyone the world over had the dominating spirit that motivates Texans.– Billy Clayton, Speaker of the Texas House No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.
