Ex-Proud Boys organizer gets 17 years in prison for his part in the Jan 6 insurrection attempt. Now, THAT's a dose of reality, for those who need it the most. We don't need no x-moonie or x-Peoples Temple cult member to de-program these people. The rule of law and courts are doing a fine job. OTOH, in the alt-right view, we need Trump as POTUS quick - to pardon all those convicted or sentenced. Don't buy that at all. There's no "de programming" going on, it's just perpetrators getting consequences, which is great. The de programming does need to come from within the group, not the third leg of government. Conservative leaders, ( not necessarily GOP) are the ones needed to take the lead and steer away from Trump. | |||

Of course I agree with you, Scott. I was just being absurd, in part, to make a point. But also of course, the situation is absurd. You singled out the "de-programing" part of my post and that's what I'm responding to. Re "de-programing" - that's my metaphor for shocking reality. That's all.
