Past couple months I have received govt checks week or so early--this would be social security and military retirement. Anyone else getting their checks early?

Did a spouse start collecting SS this year? If it is on yours and their pay date is earlier then your pay date will move up as well. At least that's how it went down with us.

I’m getting my SS check about a week early. Interesting that the check is for $75 less a month in spite of the 8.5% COL raise. Apparently they looked at me previous tax returns and decided I made too much money and therefore didn’t need the raise and they could simply take what they wanted from my check. Fucking government! Mad

Antelopedundee--No spouse did not start collecting. There has been no change. My checks showed expected increases.

Compare this year's COL change with last year's to determine where the error is and pay a visit to your local office if needed.

Does your COL statement for 2023 have the normal deposit date on it or did that change too? Mine stayed the same, 3rd Wedenesday of the month.

Could be there is a large imbalance in the number of accounts paid in each period and they are just re-balancing.

Antelopedundee--My pay date remained second Wednesday for social security. 1st of month for my military retirement and VA disability is the standard and has been as long as I remember. I've recently received all three of these early.

I have a neighbor that had about 12 years active duty in the Army and got out and went into an active reserve component. He did enough reserve time to retire when he turned 62. He retired a year ago last month and of course applied for retirement at that time. He has yet to start receiving his pay--13 months overdue.

He needs to have one of his congresspeople go to bat for him.

Yep. If nothing after a month or two, contact your local office. If nothing after that, then contact your Congressfolks.
