Another example of what a fuck up "democracy" is in the West!

The Tories, supposed to be the conservatives, forgot their principles and went WOKE!

Handing the reins to Labor, who really are nothing but Commies in disguise!

Following in the footsteps of the SNP!

You should try reading something other than the daily fail.

Our politics are not perfect by a long way, but at least we get to chose who lives in 10 Downing Street and none of the possible candidates are as bad as Trump.

The last half decent PM you got was Thatcher!

And only because she kicked the Argentinians and the miners!

After that who?

Teflon Tony?

A war criminals if there ever was one!

I like the bit you lot keep saying you change your rulers every few years!

Bullshit of course, as all you do is change political parties in power.

The stupid zombies in charge of each party remain the same! rotflmo

That’s not really true, Saeed.

The GOP was pretty firmly in the hands of the old money, fiscal conservative crowd prior to Trump pulling off his primary win in 2016.

Since then the party has drifted to the Trump populist crowd because of their willingness to accept anything for their one issue.

While I have some sympathy for the pro life viewpoint, it’s neither absolute nor my primary concern.

The party has definitely moved away from me.

Too bad the Dems have gone way too far down the progressive path for me to consider supporting that party at all.

Individual democrats, sure. But they have to prove they buck the party line a lot to get my vote.

I'm interested in hearing your further thoughts on this, Doc. What about the "progressive path" repulses you? Which issues specifically concern you?

I myself am concerned about the Democrats' stance on gun rights. Can't think of anything else that really bothers me. I feel I have to vote Biden to help keep Trump out.

Progressive taxation with continual demands for more taxation of "the wealthy" who "don't pay their share" meaning upper end wage earners.

Affirmative action/DEI

Lack of border control

Anti gun stance

Animal rights support

desire to subject us to world governance

public funding of LBGTQ treatments that are unproven.

supporting slavery reparations

supporting the "green energy" without logical extension.

Support for abortion to 9 months gestation.

generalized lack of support for property rights

Generalized viewpoint that everything that is bad/they don't like is someone's fault and government will fix it.

etc.

I agree with you on most of those issues.

I suspect a lot of people will feel like me, and risk being unhappy over issues in preference to seeing a corrupt megalomaniac in the White House again.

Biden supports Ukraine. Trump would allow Putin to conquer Ukraine.

Biden acts like an adult in foreign relations. Trump behaves like a child throwing tantrums. He coddles enemy dictators like Putin and Kim.

Trump says he'd use the president's office for revenge against his political enemies. Sure, let's give him the chance.

Investment in green energy makes sense. I don't know what you mean by "without logical extension," but "Drill, baby, drill!" is a slogan of the past.

I doubt most of the issues Doc Butler lists are supported by most Democrats. The Democrats draw voters from liberal extremists, just as Republicans draw conservative extremists.

Trump is not a conservative. He's a cult of personality. His followers are mindless lemmings who would lead us all off the cliff.

That's how democracy works my friend. Those who are steering the ship are there because of the gullibility of the electorate rather than the winner of the lucky sperm lottery.

Im struggling to think of very many benevolent dictatorships or other absolute rulers. Oman, Seychelles, Turkey under Attaturk, Tito maybe...its a short list.

That is how ELECTIONS work.

Most certainly NOT democracy!

You have absolutely no idea what real democracy is!

Real world "democratic elections" nowadays are a perfect example of a stagnant lake.

Full of human excrement!

The elected ones are the ones floating on top! rotflmo

It is, by definition, democracy. That the electorate are to gullible or stupid not to elect idiots, or in the case of the US philandering liars doesn’t change that.

The way I understand it, democracy means the will of the majority.

In the West today, it is the will of the deranged, stupid, unrealistic minorities that are being given priority!

The normal man and woman in the street, the majority, are totally ignored!

I have come to the conclusion that governments, regardless of what system they follow, are most definitely NOT the citizens best friends.

Some are better than others, and I suspect that is due to whoever is in charge is trying to keep their skins intact!

We are very lucky to live in a small country where citizen’s welfare is taken care off.

No idea how long this will continue as we get bigger.

I wonder how the citizens of Sudan feel about the war/famine that the UAE is funding? Is that in the best interests of the Sudanese?

Apparently, staying out of other countries is advice for the collective West and does not apply at home. What is that old saying? Do as I say, not as I do?

Ah yes, I'm sure the Sudanese have chosen famine and civil war above those evil westerners and the funny ideas they promote. Who wants things like food, clean water and stability when you could have Jihad, civil war and further enrich some of the wealthiest foreigners on earth? A clear choice any rational individual would make cuckoo

I believe most of the links point out how the civil war in Sudan is really a proxy war for regional influence between the Emiratis and your brothers the Saudis. It does not have much to do with the declining influence of the West, though the strengthening relationship between the UAE and Russia is mentioned. Birds of a feather and all....

A huge chunk of the aid which is delivered around the world originates from the west. It might sometimes come with strings attached but... eat vs dont eat

I wonder how much china, Saudi and Russia donate in aid?

The West have NEVER, EVER, given anything to anyone without strings attached.

China is taking advantage of this as no one trusts you anymore!

WRONG, so profoundly wrong.

Millions here donate to help those in need or the subject of famine or disasters all around the world. What strings did the three aid workers who were recently killed in Gaza attach to their help?

The US built a pier to facilitate aid getting into Gaza, what conditions did they put on that?

Get you head out of the bloody Daily Mail Saeed. All the pictures of vacuous celebs is rotting your brain.

This pretty much sums my view up. I am not in any way a fan of Biden but I just cannot buy into the Trump cult. As much as I disagree with the Democrats view I cannot support Trump and the current raft of Republican Trump zombies.
