Individuals can have equal rights but you cannot have generalized equity with equal rights under the law. In order to improve group outcomes someone has to pay the price to bring a underperforming group up to equal results.

I can't defend all of Trump's picks. Frankly, I think they are like the democrat's picks- sycophants. Biden's were to an ideology, Trump's more to a person. Trump's may well be marginally more competent than the Biden ones, and I personally find the policy a bit more comprehensible, if not the way they are going about it.

I get what Musk is doing, even if I find the how quite troublesome. I really never quite got what Biden's rationale was other than "not Trump."

You are conflating the terms. Or, are we saying the same thing? I think we're not.

And I'm not so sure "equity" is covered by the theory of "equal rights". I think it's bigger than that. For example, when hiring, equal rights is no guarantee of even getting an interview. OTOH, when an interview team ignores such factors as race or gender, and gender identity, only then is equity equal regarding opportunity. Is that happening, or not?

Still, I'm talking about equal outcome only insofar as equal opportunity. Opportunity being the equal result.
