I have no idea what it is for. But this non stop raising of the debt ceiling is no good to anyone! In all our business, we make sure to NEVER get into debt we cannot pay on time, and reduce it. Increasing debt says nothing but FAILURE!

Don't worry folks, when the NASA Psyche 16 mission reaches Psyche 16 "Metal" asteroid in 2028, the USA will claim the asteroid (valued at 5 quintillion dollars) as US property and the debt will be wiped out. The US will mine the asteroid and control the world's metal supply for a thousand years.

That seems odd to preach austerity, but yet increase the debt limit. Must be trumponomics 104. Borrow money to give the rich a tax break. Give me a home where the buffalo roam and I'll show you a house full of buffalo shit.

International treaty forbids a country from making claims on objects in space, including asteroids, moons, and planets. Otherwise, the Moon would belong to the US.

The government has been doing this for decades and you were one of the folks who was screaming when the GOP was not going to raise the debt limit... Notably, no one dares not raise the limit once they have decided that they are going to spend the money- they have a CR to spend it, and "Oh no, the government will shut down if we don't raise the spending limit!" I am all for fiscal responsibility on the part of the government but its somewhat hypocritical to complain about the debt ceiling getting raised if you cannot see that they already have decided that they are raising it. I guarantee there is plenty of governmental waste and a huge amount of redundant governmental positions. There is also no stomach to actually reduce benefits regardless of actual need, whether or not its a legitimate governmental duty. I think we all agree that there is waste and inefficiency, its just what areas that folks are OK with cutting it in that's the political issue. GOP typically doesn't want cuts in defense spending. Democrats typically want to protect the bureaucracy of the social safety network.
