The reports produced by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are massive undertakings, requiring years of effort and hundreds of scientists who volunteer as authors. The sixth assessment report cycle saw its first documents released in 2018, and five more followed through 2022. Today puts a coda on that cycle, as the condensed Synthesis Report is out.

The IPCC is the world’s official body for assessment of climate change. The panel has just released its Synthesis Report, capping off seven years of in-depth assessments on various topics.

Never fear, the resident "experts" will be along to explain it all to you shortly.

I will synthesize that majority of regular people can’t understand it
And what I hear is most people don’t care as they simply don’t want to be controlled because people just want to make a living and have food on table and roof over their heads
I wonder if all,these scientists live in carbon free houses and grow their own food they fertilize by their own processed offal
Walk 5 km to work because even bikes when being made produce carbon
I wonder if they eat cold and raw food as cooking produces carbon as well

I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over the bicycles or other minutiae if I were you.

Sent or bought anything from overseas recently? Cruise ships burn about 50 gallons per mile (118 l. per km.). That’s a lot of bicycling. The bigger container ships burn about 63,000 gallons / 238,000 litres per day.

One single B52 bomber burns 3,300 gallons / 15,000 litres per hour. I don’t know if they still do, but NORAD used to keep several of them in the air 24 hours a day.

Our own dear Prime Minister uses a government DC10 to go from Ottawa to Vancouver when he want to go paddle boarding or chase some stray tail; it burns 2,550 gallons an hour…for about ten hours, round trip.

It adds up.
