The US arms industry going the same way as russia's Login/Join

Russia's arms export is down the shitters after its abysmal performance in Ukraine. The supercool T90 tank being killed by a single side shot of a Carl Gustav, warhead nothing more and nothing less than the AT4. Air defense being killed off in droves by drones below USD1000 in cost, and shooting down almost as many russian aircraft as they knock out Ukrainian.

Now this: https://unn.ua/en/news/the-usa...of-intelligence-data

HIMARS is, as all modern stuff today, linked up. Someone at brigade left-clicks a target on a screen and then right-clicks amongst the available means of providing death and destruction. Barreled artillery strike? Rocket strike? Infantry assault?

Well, it seems like HIMARS isn't showing up anymore in that right click menu, since Zelensky has only said thanks to the US on 92 individual occasions.

Now, let's discuss F35. Finland chose to buy F35 over Gripen because of the geopolitical alliances that would come with such a deal. There was plenty of talk about the "kill switch", but Finland (politicians and defense procurement alike) said that there was no chance in hell than there would be an armed conflict between the US and Finland. Kill switch is there so that they can sell to less trustworthy allies. "This is no problem, since we in Finland are a trustworthy ally".

But the US has now taken away the ability to use HIMARS in a conflict not involving the US. This is about a country's ability to defend against russia.

So the message is: "the kill switch is there to make sure that you guys cannot defend yourselves if we want to extort a mineral deal from you... while giving 20% of your territory as a gift to the invaders".

Finland takes notes. I guess all other countries operating F35's do too.

SAAB, who makes Gripen, saw its stocks skyrocket as the news of the HIMARS cutoff went into the news. It only took seconds for investors to see what the future would look like for the Swedish arms industry... and for their US competitors.

When you americans shoot yourselves in the foot, you seem to prefer belt-fed full auto these days. Hope you had no love for your arms industry.

Must be why the UAE doesn't use them, except for F-16s, and AH-64s, and C-17s and C-130s, and Patriots, and HIMARS and Javelins...

I have no love for our, "military industrial complex" and:

A) feel free to buy elsewhere. The Russian MIG's require a hand held gps to find their way home.
B) which other nations produce the educated personnel to operate out 2 st century weapons? I'm not aware of many.

For decades the United States has been a global supplier of death, I'd be more than happy to have our manufacturing industry produce life and life improvement. Saeed and cousins can go back to camels and spears.

Well... being from Sweden, we're more likely to do the selling. From our financial perspective, the US betrayal of Ukraine is a godsend.

Swedish Gripens, by the way, can use more datalinks than the NATO link16 (which is generally considered the inferior alternative).

Please do and no offense meant. Our "military industrial complex" is off the rails. I would rather be supplying tractors and well pumps around the globe than tanks. I'd rather be selling barn kits than AR-15 kits.

So much of my nation is now intended to be hostile and war like when the original intent was to be a nation apart from European,(and other,) Entanglement.

We re named our Department of War the Department of Defense and nothing could be more backwards.

Australia doesn't involve itself in this silly, suicidal shit and neither should we. You do it.

when you declare an economic war to your friend partner and neighbours like country just did to canada and mexico what do you think will and is happening?
in the same token you took side with russia (which was consider enemy not that long ago and not only because of russia war/invasion to ukraine)

your president is playing geopolotics without thinking what will end then try to retract.

his bluff is not working and most will pay a lot and even the trump supporters as i said yesterday it was hilarious hearing the people in alaska telling to the yukoners they needed us ...

i doubt the call worked and will work for the next 4 years ... i imagine it is time to use the barges for all your goods ...
