In another thread, Kabob maintains that Trump, and his followers want certain aspects of fascism.
Therefor, he and they are fascists.
The United States has some social programs. We have an avowed socialist in the senate, and a segment of the population that wants us to be like Europe.
That must mean the United States is a socialist country doesn't it?

As a country as a whole, we don’t want either system. Fringe elements on both sides are the exceptions to the rule….

Fascism - requires a dictatorship and a socialist style of governance — both the antithesis of the US Right Wing of Politics.

Thus, I have never been able to wrap my head around fascism being a right wing thing — even though you do see that printed from other sources.

Certainly, the Democrats want to take us to socialism and we are more socialistic today than ever before…but no…the USA is not a socialist country today…as we all know.

In order for America to become fascist or socialist I think we'd have to all be alot more monochromatic. Either fascism or socialism would require broad agreement. Seems nearly impossible in this country.

We live in a reasonably successful mixed economy, adapted somewhat to booms and busts.

Well, I suppose that's as good as it gets, and probably the first positive perspective I've read regarding the merits of division.

I'll call that reality.

Oh, it aint all blue skies, the division will eventually cause us to crumble. Folks like all us here certainly would be able to union, but the loons on either end won't, not to mention those among us intending anarchy, criminal enterprise, foreign interest, even simple, personal narcissism.

We're way to big, way to broad, way to bloated. I read recently that now America needs to arm Taiwan I think against China and just this morning I read an article about some poor missbegotten town in California that is drying up and blowing away because California's legalization of marijuana killed off the towns illegal drug trade.
Seriously.

It goes on and on and there's just no common ground anymore. California might all are to be socialist, but Texas won't and Florida may all agree to be fascist but New York won't. Our union is decaying.

As long as we can make fun of it, and point it out, and discuss it, there's hope.

The sad thing is that members of this forum can't agree or at least compromise. I think the members of this forum are largely educated and intelligent.
If we can't agree or compromise, what are the odds for the rest of the idiots?

I think for the most part, we in this forum have learned something, re how to get along and still disagree.

I see evidence of it. Need I explain?

I have seen a few examples of newbies, hot to trot, who have changed their tune in time through participation. Bluefish!

Magine,

That was a really long diatribe that I got bored reading before I finished. Trump had his flaws, but was one of the best Presidents we've had in recent remedy. The Dems tried to impeach him and prosecute him because of "classified" information in his residence. They searched his wife's underwear drawer they were so motivated. Then, their geriatric hero was found to have "classified" information in his garage. Tit for tat. Maybe it's no big deal? Or if they think it is, Let's go.

I just got a good chuckle reading this, and confirms what we already knew.
I said almost the exact same thing as Scott, but Kabob called me a liar and denier.
Same old same old. If you dont agree 100% with Kabob, he turns into an asshole instead of debating. And with Scotts post, he accepted that same explanation. rotflmo

Did that really happen in the alternate universe you inhabit? Didn't happen that way in ours.

Every thing I read says documents were found re Biden. Not one single source have I found that explains WHO found them & notified the proper people. Until somebody can show that Biden himself was involved in stealing this stuff, like trump did, it's not even close to being equivalent. Biden has not refused any returns, nor denied possession, nor thrown out outlandish BS about how he has the right to take & keep this shit, nor thrown lawyers up to shield any of it. He's getting the benefit of the doubt here unless, like trump, you can show me one iota of intent to break the law.

Biden's attorney found the documents, and reported them to the National Archives, as I understand it.

That attorney would have violated his ethical duty and attorney-client privilege to report them without Biden's permission. Biden must have given him permission to report the find.

If you believe what you just wrote…either 1) you don’t have the ability to comprehend 2) you are blinded by bias or 3) you have spent zero time listening/reading about this.

As an officer of the court, doesn’t an attorney have an obligation to report illegal activity? Apparently not…. coffee
