There are matches in Lubbock, Midland and San Angelo in my neck of the woods -- and Killough/Eley is less than an hour south of me. Might give this a try in January with a little Tikka T1X in the factory division. It's kinda like 50-yard .22 benchrest.

We shoot it here, unofficially, at my range as a competition between friends.

We use various rifles and some shoot really well.

Ammo of choice is ELEY and LAPUA.

Saeed, I think those two are the world standards for ultimate accuracy, if you find the lot your particular rifle likes. Lapua is harder to come by than Eley in these parts.

Bill,

We just got a whole lot of different ammo.

I am going to test some and let you know the results.

Tests will be 5, 10 shot groups in various rifles at 50 yards.

if you're shooting Anschutz barrels, save yourself some ammo and go with Lapua Midas+ or Exact...

Saeed, I look forward to your new round of tests. Laughbearer, I am trying to find out what works best in this Tikka barrel. And yes, there is a good chance the top-of-the-line Lapua and Eley target ammunition will likely be most accurate. Wish it weren't so dang expensive.

There is no question that both ELEY and LAPUA ammo are the best 22 rim fire on offer today.

Both companies offer so many different types - I am sure they all come off the same production line but are sorted from different batches.

I have over 70 different types of ammo.

Not all are match.

Some are so bad in some rifles one would imagine the groups are fired from a shotgun with a cylinder bore!

We had ARA for years, lately it's necessary to drive a ways to any ARA matches. ARA factory class doesn't include Remington 513T, and I don't want to buy another rimfire rifle or shoot unlimited. Bullseye benchrest once a month instead.

I have an Anschutz 1913 Super Match RF BR rifle and a 2500X RF BR rifle. They both hate Eley Tenex of all speeds. They love Lapua Midas+ and Lapua X-ACT.
I have enough for this coming year I think.
