Has anyone played with the use of powdered metals swaged into copper jackets ? Corbin shows this on their website, METAL POWDERS at Corbin Either tungsten, atomized copper, bismuth, etc. ? We're facing a ban on lead based projectiles for hunting in certain areas here in CA. Don't know how it'll shake out or what will be affected since this will be decided in a Federal court. I'd be real interested in finding out about bullets in .17, .204 and .224 that retain the jacket but have a swaged powdered metal core. I've used the lead free bullets from SinterFire that are swaged powdered metal and they're accurate and do work. But want to see other options. | ||

Skinner, I have made tungsten powder cored bullets in .224, trying for heavy (130 gr.+) bullets. It is nothing short of a PITA. It works so so for standard weight bullets, but I never shot for accuracy so can’t say how accurate they are. If you want further details, send a pm.
